Injury update and Collins situation

Likely torn tendons. Structural damage takes time to heal. I tore my tricep tendon off the bone a few years ago and it was 3 or 4 months before I could work out again. But I am 51.

The reports after the injury were that there was no structural damage. No broken bones or torn ligaments. If he detached a ligament he would be done for the season. So either the initial reports were wrong or there is something else going on. But if this new timetable is correct, it will be 11 weeks of recovery from a dislocation with no structural damage. That seems like an absurdly long time. I get the feeling if Odighizuwa was having a typical rookie season, they would rush Gallimore back on the field. But Odighizuwa is crushing his rookie season so Gallimore and Hill can take their time recovering. I think we will not see Hill until 2022.

You maybe right about Hill. And Big O is killing it. And seems to get better every game.

Early in the game, pass protection was weak. Got better later. In general the whole pocket was collapsing rather quickly. Need to get that straight!

I look forward to Gallimore lining up along side Odighizuwa. I think they will be a very tough duo to block. Hill can back up Odiggy next year.

Really surprising about Gallimore being out another month. Seemed initially worse case he would have been back 2 weeks ago.

I am getting the "I am milking it" vibe from him.

He tore his ACL last October. Other players have torn their ACLs and come back quicker. Devin Bush tore his ACL last December and he started the season for the Steelers, for example.
he might be a low motivated type and does this team even want that . I dont know I have no proof

Maybe they are wanting to keep him on IR for now? Waiting untill they actually need him to bring him back. or they just don't care cause he's not really better than the current guys.

I welcome Collins back with open arms. He’s a top shelf player. Gonna need all vattos on deck for this run to the big show
Puro Cowboys

So who is coming back after the bye week?
If I remember correctly Gallimore, La'el Collins, Kelvin Joseph, Josh Ball, and Michael Gallup should all be back for the Halloween night game or close too it.

If he gets an injunction, but loses the appeal, he could play a couple games and then have to sit out. That's not good for cohesiveness.

He's probably better, at least at pass blocking, than Steele. But I'm not sure what how the coaches should handle his situation.
Hasnt he Already sat
Out 4 weeks, making this a mute point

10:07 a.m. – As of Tuesday morning, nothing has changed regarding La'el Collins' NFL suspension, so Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones is operating under the assumption that the veteran right tackle will not be available again Sunday against the Patriots.

"I frankly do not have anything that that's worth noting that would indicate otherwise that he won't be out for this game," Jones told 105.3 The Fan.

Collins is currently eligible to return from his five-game suspension next week, after Sunday's game at New England. But Collins is seeking an injunction blocking the remainder of the suspension for what the league called a violation of its substance abuse policy. U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant III heard Collins' case last Friday and has yet to make a ruling.

The club doesn't anticipate any of the players on Reserve/Injured to return before next week's bye, head coach Mike McCarthy said.

The estimated timeline for starting defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and defensive tackle Neville Gallimore (elbow) is likely at least another month, Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan.

Other players on IR include wide receiver Michael Gallup (calf) and rookie cornerback Kelvin Joseph (groin).

All are making progress, and the bye will provide another week to inch toward a return.

Gallup and Joseph are the guys I am looking forward to getting back.

Which is better - letting Steele get more game time or bringing in Collins after missing 3 games and having to get back in game shape (to some degree, probably not a lot)?

Methinks it should be the former..
Collins.....

Thats great if they play against the Vikings. I know Collins is but not sure about the rest. I see all of them contributing except Josh Ball who will probably sit and learn.
