"During the draft process, not one person interviewed by the team said he was going to grow up," said one source directly involved in the drafting of Manziel. "You can't blame Johnny. This is who he is. The team knew that."

What? Haha

I was told if Johnny came even close #16 we would trade up for him, was told even more if by some miracle he did fall #16 no way Jerry would pass(y'all knew Jones to well)

(Stupid stoopid Cowboy fans)

Remember the draft chat and the posts fill of massive rueage for us passing on JF? I was on record from day one that I wanted no part of him. By the time we were on the clock and JF was still there I told everyone around me "at this point any name but Manzel is fine with me." There was a huge celebration in my house when Martin's name was announced.

Tony was doing press a day or two after the draft saying that he knew in advance the team wasn't going to draft Johnny Manziel. The Jerry comments were just another attempt by our owner to get some free press during the draft weekend and following for the Dallas Cowboys.

Does anybody really believe that if Jerry had actually wanted Johnny Manziel that that idiot would be slacking off games in CLE? He'd be sitting on our bench with a star on his helmet collecting his rookie paycheck.

This is spot on. :hammer:

People like to lock in on a comment that Jerry makes if it fits their agenda and then just hammer on it relentlessly. And if Im not mistaken, many of those same people also say that you just cant pay attention to anything Jerry says.

:banghead:

Thus far he has shown he is not much of a leader, when your QB is getting fined for coming in late on more than 1 occasion and it does not appear Football is a 1st priority to Manziel. Best thing Dallas did in last year’s draft is pass on this over hyped idiot

He's not an NFL football player, let alone a quarterback, let alone a franchise quarterback.

Gronkowski is just as much of an irresponsible punk who deserves to be put down and humbled yet he is renowned because he simply outmuscles defenders.

Production matters. Manziel didn't produce. He obviously failed to meet some of the unrealistic expectations that some had of him coming out of A&M. He even failed to meet low end more realistic expectations of a rookie QB.

Gronk has never been drunk the day of the game or has ever acted entitled and like a spoiled brat (to my knowledge). He loves to party but puts up monster numbers during the season. Manziel had been awful so far so that's why people rip on him on top of his attitude problems.

Two years ago I was enamored with the idea of Johnny Football at QB. His last year at A&M told me enough about his game to believe that he would have a lot of work to do to be successful in the NFL because anytime he played good defenses that forced him to stay in the pocket he looked awful. His pro day stunt of putting on pads looked more like an advertisement for Evans than anything else.

I was relieved when the Cowboys passed on him because I thought he was a mess who's media star would be a toxic mix that would have completely torn the team apart. Imagine this place after the San Fran game if Johnny Football had been on the bench.

From the moment he was drafted Johnny Manziel has made virtually every rookie mistake out there. His mere presence helped to stall a somewhat promising season and even though Hoyer struggled, JF was significantly worse when his number was called. All I can say is Thank the Lord that such a mess is sitting in Cleveland and not in Dallas.

He won't be a nfl player for much longer. I'm betting he is out of the league in a couple if yrs

Oh I completely agree. If he isn't ready start by season 4 they may move on. The Cleveland curse is very alive.
