Instead of trying to guess our first pick I am going to guess that we do something similar to what we did when Julius was in the draft...

everyone wanted us to take the other backs... ie. Stephen Jones, etc.... and we traded down and got JuJo....

so I think we pick a relatively unpopular/untouted pick

That could easily happen. No one outside of VR has any real clue as to what will happen despite all the "book its" and "deal with its" some folks will have us believe. :) I'm choking on all this smoke. ;)

I don't know. If an impact player is there, I think they shoot. It seems to me that they were in building mode when they did the trade for Jones, and it doesn't seem that way now. I think they want instant impact and go from here.

Agreed. In a full-on building mode, stockpiling picks is key. No sense passing up on talent at this point.

Depends what the Cowboys have listed as an "Impact player."

There might be some here that think a certain player (or players) is an impact player, but the cowboys don't.

There's only like 5 players that I think the cowboys would list as an impact player (just throwing a number out there).

Plus, if an "Impact" player falls to us at 18, why did other teams pass on him?

OMG... did I just make a Mick statement?

Jerry's son, i think

I dont think Stephen Jones was in the draft as RB but i could be mistaken. Stephen Jackson was a pretty good back in that draft though.

The good ole "if he is so good then why is he available” has transcended FA and moved to the Draft, where would it manifest itself next? :)

:laugh2: I interpreted it in a different way. Everyone wanted other backs, ie Stephen Jones, as in, Stephen Jones was one of the ones who wanted other backs. Now I see that it was a typo.

Well, everything depends on what the cowboys have listed or think. None of what we say has any bearing on what they do. Couldn't you read the "IMPLICATION" (couldn't resist) :lmao: that of course I meant what the cowboys thought. :D

I'll stick my prediction in thinking we drop some and still get Carpenter and get our 4 back. I wouldn't be surprised to see us do something with Greg Ellis.. But you can bank this, the COWBOYS WILL DRAFT A LINEBACKER :). book it!
