Cheap option and red zone beast, WHEN he's healthy......

This was his 2018 one year contract with Bengals

Tyler Eifert signed a 1 year, $5,500,000 contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, including a $3,000,000 signing bonus, $3,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $5,500,000. In , Eifert will earn a base salary of , a signing bonus of , a roster bonus of , a signing bonus of , a restructure bonus of , a workout bonus of and a incentive bonus of , while carrying a cap hit of and a dead cap value of .

The number of games missed....

Some guys aren't meant to play football but still insist on putting on the pads. That's Tyler Eifert and I'm not sure why he's getting so much attention - 2015 was a long time ago, and he couldn't even finish that season.

He should retire and we need to stay away.

No interest from me.

TE is going to be tough to immediately upgrade unless one of the top three falls. You don’t get much out of rookie TEs usually.

We want another guy who can block and catch. And I can’t see us spending big on one in FA with the other deals we have to get done.

True but the 13 TDs gets the attention.....

I would consider it. If his injuries were of the freak nature and not anything that you’d expect to reoccur... I’d give him some consideration.

It’d be risky but could be well worth it. If he gets hurt again, Dallas would be right back where they were this year, which wouldn’t be too terrible. However this is a pretty historic draft at the TE position, so I could see them just filling that spot from the draft.

If he came at a reasonable contract, I’d think long and hard before letting him go elsewhere.

Just my two cents.

He's a bottom feeder......hell, he may only get vet min.

I think this draft has some very good TE's. Don't think I'd sign Eifert with his injury history, unless it's a very incentive laden deal.

I think we should resign Swaim for a year and develope Jarwin and Schultz. Don’t forget Rico. Lmao

My concern about the draft is we're unlikely to have a chance at one of the top 3-4 guys. Then you have to ask are we really upgrading the unit with next level.

This. I still draft one, for sure, even knowing it MAY be 2020 before i really enjoy the benefit. This team needs a good in-line TE.

So if you know you're not getting a return in 2019 (and you're right, you won't), where then do you decide to draft one?

For the vet min? Sure. But you better feel ok with Jarwin or Schultz as your starter when the inevitable injury occurs.

You're definitely not upgrading yourself for 2019. And if you're not doing that, when are you investing a draft pick on getting one? That would be my question.

I know Eifert has a huge medical red flag due to injuries. And rightly so. But where else would you find a potentially top 5 TE to come in and have that impact for Dallas in 2019? People want to say Jared Cook, but good luck outbidding Oakland. They like him far more and have a lot more cap money to spend on him.
