Kyle Shanahan was Dan Quinn’s Offensive Coordinator his 1st season as Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons 2015-2016 season.

That season Kyle Shanahan was the AP Assistant Coach of the Year and then of course has went on to be the Head Coach of the 49ers since.

That season Dan Quinn and Kyle Shanahan lost to the New England Patriots in that rememberable Superbowl where they had a 28 - 3 lead in the 3rd quarter.

That was also Dan Quinn’s first season with the Falcons after he left the Seahawks who were also recently SB champs.

They know one another very well.

Would you want Kyle Shanahan to coach your team before Mike McCarthy? How about Dan Quinn?

It's hard to tell without digging into Quinn really deep. Interview him, see where his head and philosophy as a coach are. But as for MM, I'm willing to give him one more year...his draft, his hires, everything him. See what he does with Moore, etc. If there's failure, then I throw him out with the bathwater.

If you had the chance to have Kyle Shanahan as your HC over McCarthy and/or Dan Quinn, would you?

Ah gotcha.

Obviously Shanahan.

And I would have said that before the loss.

Earlier in the year Shanahan was making some questionable coaching decisions in terms of player management. He wasn't playing Ayiuk that much and was starting Elijah Mitchel, a 6th round rookie over Trey Sermon, a 3rd round rookie who they traded up to get.

The reason being, Ayiuk wasn't giving it 100% and Mitchel was giving it his all during training camp and practices.

Decisions like that send a message to the whole team that if you aren't 100% committed you're not on the field. That's how you create a culture of winning.

McCarthy just wanted to be buddies with all the players. At least that's how it appeared to me this season.

Kyle Shanahan is widely regarded as one of the brightest minds in the nfl. An elite head coach.

Mike McCarthy is a fat head coach.

And, maybe a side order of fries. :muttley:
In all seriousness, how about letting guys play who merit the time and aren't playing with obvious injuries or diminished abilities?
I perceive that some players may have gotten their snap counts based on their contract incentives.
And, how about real position challenges?

From a radio interview MM did, I have a feeling he wants to run the offense but for some reason (Joneses probably) is not.
They asked him in a certain crunch situation, if he would like to take back the play calling from KM. He said "No Comment" in a joking manner.
I may be reading into it but he could have easily just said "No. I trust KM fully. Blah blah blah ..." but he didn't.

Its very much Wade 2.0. He was just happy for the job and would do what ever the evil wizard said to get the job.

Of course I'd take Kyle.
Over Quinn also?

21 from the 53 roster are UFA’s so they’re be churning for sure. Also lots of comp picks should be expected.
