Q. What did you think of the gameplan to put Charles Woodson on Terrell Owens with Collins over the top and then doubling tight end Jason Witten with linebacker Brandon Chillar and another defender? Was that the way to go?

A:
I think so based on what Terrell Owens did last week against Philadelphia and what he did last year. I have no problem with that. There wasn't enough pressure at times to do a lot of that. The game plan should always be double "82" (Witten) and double "81" (Owens). But if you can't stop Miles Austin, then you can't do that. This guy had eight career catches coming in and had a career game. It's just embarrassing to see a guy like that to come into Lambeau Field and make two big plays like that. But "82", you have to take him away. There were times Romo was able to just stare him down and get the ball to him for some crucial first downs. You have to find someone who can cover that guy. Believe me, every team is seeing that. They're going to try to exploit the tight end and get big plays down the field. But 200 yards rushing, that's unacceptable. They have to find a way to get that cleaned up

When TO and Jason are getting doubled Crayton should be having a field day against 1 on 1 coverage. Not only did he not have a field day he didn't have 1 catch. I'm not one to say that we need Roy Williams opposite TO but we do need someone who can make the defense pay for doubling our stars. The game Crayton had against the rams last year is what I call making a team pay for single covering him. I don't think he has enough speed to put fear in the secondary hopefully Austin will now bring that to the table.

Where is this from?

Practically speaking, you can't truly double 2 players very often. If you do that, you leave yourself wide open to any number of things.

You would think Crayton would have had a big game if this was the coverage. We still could have scored 41 on them if it weren't for the fumble and interception.

GB definitely doubled TO on nearly passing down. It appeared that only on certain downs did they double Witten. But they clearly went into the game with the intention of taking TO and Witten out of the game at all costs.

It's somewhat disappointing that Crayton didn't show up AT ALL given he was covered man-to-man all day by GB's backup CB. Thankfully Austin was able to use his speed to make GB pay with those two big plays.

Once we're able to incorporate Felix into the passing game and prove that he can't be covered by a LB, teams won't have the luxury of paying so much attention to TO and Witten. Felix truly adds an entirely new dimension to this offense if he can develop into the Westbrook-type threat that the coaches envision.

Yep. The Boys line up, the defense is planning on doubling TO and Witten, before the snap, Felix motions out of the backfield and goes wide.

I can't wait.

Well, this was the hot button topic for most of the off season. Can Crayton be that #2 guy? It's early yet but before this whole thing is over, we are going to need him to be that kind of WR for us. I guess we will see what happens. It's a bit late now to try and fix it. Go with what we have is all you can do at this point.

This team has the components to makeup for the lack of a dynamic #2 WR. Austin's speed and Felix as a receiving threat is enough to keep defenses honest as long as those 2 guys continue to develop as we hope.

Perhaps. However, many have said that Crayton would be able to achieve this year as well. He may end up doing that. We need him to but, having said that, it's all expectations until it's actually proven.

That's the kicker.

There is simply no way that they doubled Witten and TO all game long. And Crayton didn't need to step it up as much (Though we all agree we'd like to see him) cause Witten was still getting open (And he's going to likely be Tony's first choice if he can't get TO) and Austin was destroying them deep.

Too many weapons for this idea of 'double team these two guys' to work.

Not to mention those double teaming ideas...that leaves less in the box and Barber and Jones can exploit that.

Our offensive game plan worked perfectly and we won. A few mistakes here and there but not enough to put the game in question.

Now GB's defensive game plan failed so what ever they did they should not do it again. When doubling TO and Witten, as another poster commented, that left defenders out of position for our RBs to get huge chunks of yardage. I hope every team uses the same game plan GB did.

Three difficult games in a row and we win all of them. The wolves in sheep's clothing on this board asked questions like "Will we start 0-3? If we are 1-2 we will be lucky." McCarthyism - LOL :)

is is pretty simple fellas...and I will keep saying it...Crayton is uselss against good teams...he will put up numbers against secondaries that are terrible...but he is useless agaisnt good teams
