Aaron Rogers has been sacked 20 times in 8 games. Romo has been sacked 15 times in 8 games.

Dallas averages 4.9 ypc in the rushing game. The Packers average 4.0.

Is our offensive line really so horrible? On paper that are superior the Packer's OL which is part of an offensive unit which is basically on pace to break every offensive record the NFL has.

I'm guess I am getting tired of everyone point the the Oline as the reason why the offense isn't prolific this season.

I know there are a million other threads on the this topic, but part of me wants to point the finger at the OC (JG).

What about pass attempts? Without doing any research I'm sure GB has thrown the ball alot more than Dallas. My eye test from watching this 1st half of the season tells me the o-line is still a concern and holding the offense back. Garrett has contributed to some of the red zone struggles in particular but the bottom line is they have to execute on the field...

It's not as bad as people want to think it is. They're an average OLine, not great but not horrible either. If you want to see how a horrible OLine looks, watch the Bears/Lions MNF game earlier this season or for a Cowboys perspective, the 2009 playoff game vs. the Vikings. Cutler and Romo could barely even get out of their dropbacks before going to the turf.

Packers have thrown it 266 times. Cowboys have thrown it 293 times.

+1 the Cowboys OL.

Rodgers hasn't made off the wall mistakes like Romo has and they have a real offensive coordinator.

we threw the ball more than GB:eek:

Man we must need a OC because obviously or passing game is broke because its not getting us alot of points. We struggle mightily once we get in the redzone while the packers excel.

speaking of the packs. Packs vs chargers game was pretty good. Did anyone see phillip rivers choke the game away. 3 ints and 2 pick 6's. Hmmmm does the media give him the romo treatment...........

Our o-line has issues, but they certainly aren't the worst out there.

I would like to see our rushing ypc before the Rams game. We are 2-1 with Murray in there.

The Eagles game...well, we gave up on the run because the D put us in a 21-0 hole before the offense even had 8 plays. The O-line really did stink in that game, but the whole team got caught in an avalanche.

how did i know this thread would involve the packers in some way?

That was River's 1st 3 INT game in his career.

The third pick with about a yard or two away from being the 3rd INT for a TD in the game.

It seems to me, in an analysis such as this, the single most important factor is the type of pass plays that are called.

If protection issues are forcing the Cowboys to call an inordinate number of short drops and quick developing pass plays, it negates the impressiveness of surrendering fewer sacks than the Packers, especially if the Packers are relying on deeper drops and more complex route combinations.

The GB WRs are way better than ours and I think that is one of the big differences.

The other differences are Rodgers throws very few INTs and he is excellent at running with the ball when everything breaks down.

He is completing over 70% of his passes and is averaging near 10 ypa. His passer rating is somewhere around 125 for the year.

GB has got to be the prohibitive favourite right now. They are not unbeatable as they have played a few close games this year. The team that beats them will need a good passrush and a good secondary. I think the Eagles would match up very well against them, actually.

I'd take our receivers over theirs but i'll take their receivers + their coaches over our's.

Wow! I guess they've been running late in games after getting up by a few tds! Or the fact that they seem to score quickly w/ big plays while Dallas has to scrape & claw for every 6 they score!!

You wont to compare Rodgers WRs to cowboys WRs too or just want to stick with ones you like? So long as we are comparing you got to compare apples to apples. Stats can be bent to convey the truth we want to see most of the time.

Third, I don't think Packers have played as tough a schedule as Cowboys have had to this year or had as many starters out in games as Cowboys. Lot of different variables there.

As a group they are outstanding: Jennings, Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Donald Driver, Randall Cobb and Jermichael Finley.

They run precise routes (which may or may not be coaching - we now have their coach) and get into their routes very quickly at the snap of the ball. It is like they are a bunch of Jerry Rices.

The potential of our top 2 matches well with them and probably exceeds them but after that they take us to the cleaners.

I think our Austin, Bryant, and Witten are probably a tad better than Jennings, Nelson, and Finley.

I think their #3, #4, and #5 WRs in James Jones, Donald Driver, and Randall Cobb are WAY better than Robinson, Holley, and Ogletree.

I'm not trying to bend any stats one way or another here. I just through it was interesting to see the Rogers has been sacked so many times and their OL, surprisingly (to me) doesn't look to be anything but average statistically and that our supposedly super-sucky OL looks better on paper.
