No. Win a road playoff game two years in a row. It would be the first time since ‘75. We won a road playoff game last year for the first time since 1992.
Dallas won a road playoff game in '91 and '92. They won a road playoff game in '75, but I don't think they did in '74.

No, he has it right, except it was 1975 and 1976. That's the last time we've won road playoff games two years in a row. Personally, I hope we don't win (or play) any road playoff games this year.

Edit: I think he was right, it was the 1974 and 1975 seasons, the playoff games were of course in the next calendar year.
Dallas didn't make the playoffs in 1974. In 1976 Dallas lost at home to the Rams in the playoffs. Dallas won road games in back to back years of '91 and '92. Also 3 years in a row in the early 70s.

You’re right about ‘91 and ‘92. My mistake. They also won two road playoff games in the same season in ‘75. At Minn in the “Hail Mary“ game then at LA rams in the NFC championship.

Right.

In 1975 the Cowboys were the first Wild Card team to make Super Bowl.

In 1974 we missed the playoffs. First time since going to our 1st NFL title game against Packers in 1966.

Correct. And 70,71 and 72 are only 3 year consecutive stretch we won playoff games on the road. We probably could have in 93 but we didn’t have to.

  • All time regular season record: 550-408-6 (.574, best winning % in NFL history)
  • All time playoff record: 36-30 (tied for 2nd in wins behind Pats, and tied with niners, pack and steelers)
  • All time SB wins: 5 (tied for 2nd with niners)
  • Most consecutive playoff seasons: 9 seasons- (1975-83)
  • Most consecutive playoff wins: 7 (1992-94)
  • Seasons in the playoff: 35 seasons
  • Seasons not in the playoffs: 28 seasons
  • Playoff seasons 1960-1999: 27/40 seasons
  • Playoff seasons 2000-2022: 8/23 seasons
Here are some historic trends the Cowboys could add this year:
  • Win 12 or more games for the third straight year (would be first since 1992-1995 which was 4 straight)
  • Make the playoffs for the third straight year (would be the first time since 1994-96)
  • Win a playoff game two years in a row (would be first time since 1995-96)
  • Win two or more playoff games in a season (would be first time since 1995 season)
  • Win a road playoff game two years in a row (would be first time since 1975!)
  • Win a divisional playoff game for the first time since 1995.
  • Play in an NFC championship game for the first time since 1995.
  • Play in a SB for the first time since Jan, 28, 1996.
Here‘s hoping 2023 is historical in many ways!
Great stuff Bob !!

These historic numbers continue to illustrate how amazing our glory eras were.

And how pitiful since .

I added the 20 game win streak to the OP and corrected the back to back road win comment. Thanks everyone!

Right. But that was 2 road games in the same season. Which is why I asked if you meant something different.

Ah, right, it was the same postseason, just different calendar years. I didn't read the list carefully enough. Thanks.

The Cowboys didn't make the playoffs in 1974.

In the 1975 season, they won two road playoff games (Minnesota and Los Angeles). In 1976, they lost in the divisional round to the Rams in Dallas (only playoff game that they played). In 1977, they won both NFC playoff games at home (Chicago and Minnesota). In 1978, they won the NFC Championship Game on the road in Los Angeles.

The consecutive attempts at road wins went from 1975 to 1978.

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the greatest histories in the world of sports. The 2023 season will mark the team’s 64th season. In those prior 63 seasons, the Cowboys have these historical landmarks:
  • All time regular season record: 550-408-6 (.574, best winning % in NFL history)
  • All time playoff record: 36-30 (tied for 2nd in wins behind Pats, and tied with niners, pack and steelers)
  • All time SB wins: 5 (tied for 2nd with niners)
  • Most consecutive playoff seasons: 9 seasons- (1975-83)
  • Most consecutive playoff wins: 7 (1992-94)
  • Seasons in the playoff: 35 seasons
  • Seasons not in the playoffs: 28 seasons
  • Playoff seasons 1960-1999: 27/40 seasons
  • Playoff seasons 2000-2022: 8/23 seasons
  • *Late edit- 20 consecutive winning seasons streak. (1966-85) A record that still stands.
  • Win a road playoff game two years in a row (would be first time since 1991-92) (correction)
  • Win a divisional playoff game for the first time since 1995.
  • Play in an NFC championship game for the first time since 1995.
  • Play in a SB for the first time since Jan, 28, 1996.
Here‘s hoping 2023 is historical in many ways!
That is why they want to take real history out of schools. It reveals the truth. The truth hurts, you will be in pain. The truth drives you crazy, you will be insane.

Show the playoff record from 1960-1993 before Jerry Dumbo GM Jones destroyed a Dynasty. It is amazing what Landry and Johnson did. Jerry fired both.

I'm confident this dynamic duo can crack the code after almost three decades of trying. After all, if they fail again their jobs are on the line...oh, wait. That's not how it works.

They look like brothers lol.
