Check out this website with the Shawn Hochuli crew's penalties. Down at the bottom are the 2021 stats. Focus at the bottom for his crew on the Tampa game and the Raiders game. Wow, 19 penalties and 28 penalties, the rest of the games they referee'd are way below that. Hmmmm, looks really bad to me.

Interesting Saints penalty stats:

2018: Opponents ranked 32nd in penalties called against them
2019: Opponents ranked 29th in penalties called against them
2020: Opponents ranked 32nd in penalties called against them
2021: Opponents rank 26th in penalties called against them

Hmmm, looks really bad to me.

That's nuts and I'm glad to see it actually is how it feels when watching them.

I'm sorry, did I accidentally post this on the Saints thread?

We just played them so why not post something that also "looks pretty bad" in the penalty realm? Since we're talking penalty stats and all.

The highest 'Shawn Hochuli crew' stats are both Cowboy games. It implies all those ticky-tack calls do not seem to be called by his crew in all the other games they called this year. I find that interesting, and while I do not recall that Tampa game as well, the calls on Thanksgiving were atrocious for the most part.

Remember a couple of years ago, after repeatedly hearing announcers like Madden say that holding could be called on the majority of the plays, the Cowboys played EIGHT games in a row without a single holding flag against the opposition?

While we were leading the league in QB pressures as well. I thought the streak went further though.

If you find out in advance Shawn Hochuli and company are referring a Cowboys game please DM me because I’m betting against the Cowboys that day. As soon as I saw them on thanksgiving I knew the game was over.

Watch what you say, a “Realist Cowboy Fan” will be by to explain it all, scoff at our ignorant *****, and defend everyone EXCEPT the Cowboys…

Jerry was in court with Goodell during that time to. Just wanted to get that point across lol

Yeah
There is no team in the league that seems to come remotely close to the Saints when it comes to consistency being screwed by the refs.

Your post seems statistically impossible, yet there it is

I bet Dallas is right in the middle of the pack....average

I DO think we got screwed a bit on Thanksgiving day though. Maybe not by design, but those calls were awful.

I'd love to know what the odds are for any team to be so consistently poorly ranked in penalty yards for the opposition.

I think in order to come anywhere near a reasonable justification their division rivals would all have to be highly disciplined teams ranking towards the top of the league in playing "error" free football. So I expect Tampa, Carolina and Atlanta to have glowing penalty rankings the last several years.

Regardless the Saints have gotten screwed and that playoff game was a prime example. Looking at particular officiating crews and their trends can be very telling.

A Cowboy “fan” argues AGAINST conspiracy theory when it hurts the Cowboys, yet implies support FOR the notion when it hurts other teams. Odd!

I don't buy into the conspiracy theories, but I also don't buy the refs are 100% objective. No one is without personal biases. It is human nature. When people talk about Rodgers and Brady getting certain calls all the time, I think there is something to that. When Cam Newton was getting beat up in the pocket and not getting an roughing calls, I think it was obviously true. I don't know the reason but it was hard do deny it was happening.

The officiating in the Raiders game was horrible. The PI calls on Brown were awful, especially the last one but there was a bunch of other bad calls on both sides. When fans see a game like that it is natural to ask why. Some might jump to a conspiracy theory.

I joke about the Maras of NY controlling Roger Goodell. Of course it is exaggerating what is actually going on, but that does not mean that Goodell does not listen more closely to certain owners while ignoring others. I am sure that happens. Only Roger knows to what extent. t is completely reasonable to assume there are certain owners who Roger Goodell respects and others he thinks are annoying.

I am and advocate for simplifying the rules to take some of the judgement out of it. The refs are given too much leeway over certain calls that can have a huge impact on the games.

Hey, here's my stalker again. Did those stats blow up your hazy, non-comparative "Dallas is always a victim" narrative? Lol. You see, THAT is how you back up an argument: with data. You conspiracy folks should try that sometime. While we're at it, why not reply to me directly, little buddy? Sniping from the sidelines is typically reserved for mean girl high schoolers. But this is typical of my also-rans. Try to rally support because you need validation while thinking your fear of being on the outside is also mine. So emotional and rooted in fear and don't even realize it.

See, here it is. Just repeat the narrative that you want to believe. First off, get your facts straight. It was 8 games without holding on passing plays only. This was started by some random Tweet, again that people wanted to believe so it became "proof" of "something," lol. And to top it off, Detroit had a similar streak that very same year. I know because I did the work of researching. What did the Fords ever do? Lol.

Didn’t name you, but I must have touched a nerve, because you responded with your usual lowbrow insults. Guilty conscience? All I have to do is give my opinion on supposed fans whose top priority appears to be “winning” online debates and defending Dallas opponents, INSTEAD of simply supporting the team you claim to be a fan of. You always speak of fear being the crutch of others, but YOU are the one that appears fearful—you can’t handle different opinions, you lash out at anything you can’t explain, and you think your denouncements actually impact ANYTHING, except possibly your apparent fragile ego.

A simple offhand remark that may or may not apply to your continuous nonsense makes ME a stalker?!? Ok, let me speak directly to you. You ARE an arrogant, know it all, and your anti-Cowboys “realist” agenda is BS. Most people know it, and laugh at you. Your diatribes mean nothing to anyone aside from yourself, AND your opinions change nothing.
