The Seahawks plan to approach Mike Holmgren about a contract extension after the playoffs.

Holmgren has considered retirement, so he may not want to add more than a year on to his contract. It currently runs out after the 2006 season.

If he retires, you can bet your boots that when Parcells hangs 'em up Jerry goes and tries to lure him out of retirement. It's no secret at all that Jerry has always liked Holmgren.

The important part you left out is that he considered retirement last year when the Seahawks lost in the playoffs.

I've noticed he tends to do that... Give just enuff to lead people to the thread, but leave out some of the more pertinent facts...

I have a news feed link that gives me the info. on NFL transactions. Most of these feed links have the same title.

Also. most of these sites require registeration.

I don't have time to register on 32+ sources and remember a million passwords. (its called copy and paste baby)

Dude if the Hawks had missed the playoffs this year he would have been fired heck they thought he may get canned last year. And if they lose today the only reason he keeps his job is because there really aren't that many viable coaches left right now. and even that may not save his job. with the talent they have they should win the SB. Heck I'm going on a limb and saying they will win it all....

I doubt that very seriously. The owner loves Holmgren, he's the one who convinced him to stay and hired a new GM after the playoff loss last year.

Seahawks may very well win it all this year.
