Interesting matchup of Quinn vs Shanahan

Quinn hired Shanahan as OC when he was HC in Atlanta, so these 2 guys know each other pretty well. Should make for a good chess match between these 2.
I’ve mentioned this a few times posting this week. As we draw closer to the game I suspect this will be the narrative from most media outlets. They both know where their weaknesses reside. Who comes out prepared should be decided early on. The true game within the game where the winner will most likely be decided.

I think one advantage for Quinn, his system has changed from what he did in the past to what he is doing in Dallas. Largely because of the personnel he has in Dallas as opposed to other teams he has coached.

Quinn better bring along a folder of adjustments for this game. Shanahan is a damn good offensive mind and the Cards had their way with the Cowboys D a couple of weeks ago.

Hate to say it, I would probably give the edge to the coordinator....HCs have many things on their plate while young coordinators are sponges and students of the game.......hope I'm wrong this weekend.

Yes but I'm talking Quinn ability as DC not so much as HC.

fact are that DQ can focus solely on the defense while KS has to spilt his focus also being the HC..

btw this great offensive mind is barley above 500 as a hc with the 9ers..so while he can be really good at times, hes not unbeatable.

this will ben good matchup

however, im more worried about Moore. experienced DCs have toyed with this guy all year and at times can set traps for him and he falls right into it.

I know what you mean....I meant that Shanahan may have learned more about Quinn than the other way around

Shanahan system is pretty much the same, we all saw him when he was coaching in Washington. Dallas knows Shanahan pretty well and his zone blocking schemes. He has always been a run oriented style offense and still is.

Lots of factors in Dallas’ favor:

1. Cowboys have the better QB
2. Cowboys are at home where their offense plays better
3. Cowboys are healthy
4. Cowboys have a D that forces the most TO in the NFL.
5. Lots of SB experience on Dallas’ coaching staff
6. Somehow Dallas is viewed as inferior and as the underdog vs SF— despite a better W/L record, stats, and analytics lol. Dallas thrives in the underdog role
7. Player leadership… Dak and Co know their window is now. Everything has led up to this. Now or never

Gonna be a street brawl. SF is by no means an “easy out”— but in the end, Dallas is simply the better overall team, and they are HUNGRY.

Dallas 31
SF 20
