Because the colts have the cap room for 8 mill to pay him for next year...

I am assuming you meant "wont" have the room, but they almost assuredly will

the cap will go up again, and they can always restructure deals or release some other dead weight etc etc

with the LB's we have, I doubt very seriously LB will be a target in free agency next yr, unless perhaps its for backup purposes

Leonard Davis isn't any better than what we have. He wasn't that good in college, and now he's not that good in the pro's.

I'd like to see us spend money on a young strong OG like Manuwai to replace Rivera.

I think we'll be relatively quiet this year in FA. If we do anything aggresively, it'll be for an OL.

Your's is an opinion that I respect on here, so I'm not being a smart alec when I ask this, David:

You think we'll go with the winner of Ellis/Carpenter/Singleton at SOLB? We could, but I'm not sure.

I think there's a good chance we let Singleton walk, let Carpenter be a swingman at ILB/OLB, and that Ellis is pretty much done at OLB because of his achilles. If that is the case, then they could very well want a dynamic guy opposite Ware. If a proven guy like A. Thomas is there, I think we just might go for him and have a lineup of:

Ware
Ayodele
James
Thomas

With backups/nickel backers in:

Carpenter
Burnett
Fowler
Glymph (or some other developmental guy)

Now, I admit that your scenario is probably more likely... but I could see us going ahead and getting a FA SOLB if someone who Parcells thinks is a catalytic guy opposite Ware.

who's to say Carpenter wont be what we drafted him in the beginning for? what about Burnett?

people forget both these guys are not even a year out from very bad injuries (I guess Carpenter is technically right at a yr now) but Burnett had his knee injury in December of last year

with another offseason or rehab and strength work, both these guys will be vastly improved physically...and Burnett is a vastly better player today than he was last yr before he got hurt...

I don't see us being active in FA UNLESS we cut the cord with TO and/or Flozell.

The fact is we're going to need be burning through some cash next offseason to extend Romo, Columbo, J. Jones and Barber.

The real big holes currently on this teams (depth at NT, depth at WR and a guard that is capable of starting).

I'd take Rob Morris in a heartbeat! Every time Julius was stopped for no yardage or a short gain, it Was Morris that was all over him. Everything would look blocked, and Morris would come fromout of nowhere and slam the door.

The only problem is that he would be an inside LB in our scheme, and we've already got a boatload of money locked up there with Ayodele and James.

I agree.

No sense making Carpenter in a "utility" player at this point.

Let's see if the kid can start.

With our success in FA, I would rather we sign who we have unless someone really looks like a steal (which never happens).

I'd be shocked if Jerry ever spent big money on a kicker again. He'll bring Hoffman back, and do it the old way.

And how.

That move sorta blew-up in our faces.

I don't think I am exaggerating when I say Suisham could have done what Mr. Moneybags has shown thus far.

Only ones that I would be even slightly interested in would be Josh Brown and Leonard Davis. Even those would be shakey though.

Davis, you mean the horrible lineman from Arizona that can't keep his weight down or good conditioning? You're kidding right? I'll laugh that one off because the guy has been a dissapointment since being drafted in the first round...

Only reason I bring him up is because he has the physical tools. A good coach might could salvage him. And again, I only said slight interest. :D

I seriously doubt there's any chance Freeney goes anywhere near free agency.

Jared Allen is interesting though, he's been productive for KC. He had 11 sacks last year and has six this year, plus he's pretty young. However, I don't know how he'd translate to the 3-4 SOLB spot, and I doubt KC lets him go though.

Jason Allen I'm thinking is a guy BP would love to get

Don't know how well he has performed this year but he was the guy we were interested in but knew we can't get cause Seahawks wouldn't have allowed it. From his name on this list and another mention somewhere that he now would be a FA after season over along with fact Seahawk didn't give him much more then required despite their knowledge we would have paid him some pretty good money, I'm hoping he's the guy we go after. Anyway, see anybody on this list (maybe somebody can find a comlete list) we might be interested in:

OK Kids, Now that we have been good little fans this year, Mr Snyder will be shopping this March and has a nice list to pick from. Here are the Free Agents next year. Some are restricted (RFA) and others are unrestricted (UFA).

OL- Max Starks (RFA) Pittsburgh
OL- Leonard Davis (UFA) Arizona
OL- Mike Gandy (UFA) Buffalo
DL- Dwight Freeney (UFA) Colts
DL- Jared Allen (UFA) Chiefs
DL- Vonnie Holliday (UFA) Miami

No way Freeny hits the market, he will be tagged. I also think the Bears are going to keep Briggs around, would be freaking stupid to let him walk after they finally built the D.

Outside of Josh Brown, who I would take in a heartbeat over "Mr. wide right", the FA class seems very weak this year.

If we dont go after Brown and Freeny and Briggs are not available, I say just build through the draft and save our money for our own players. Romo is going to be getting paid here pretty quick and I think Newman is coming up in a year or two.

Beast.
