Interesting stat: Texans record on artificial turf

Would be better to compare turf vs non-turf away games but nice stat nonetheless.

Something is wrong here. Reliant stadium has artificial turf and I know they have won more than 6 home games in 10 years. They won 4 games there in 2006 alone.

I don't think it is. They have pallets of grass that they move together to form a field. It's what injured Clowney. That they keep it in pallets and causes injuries makes me think it's real, otherwise why bother with field clumps.

They use real grass for their nfl games. Artificial on college/highschool games. Apparently it is NRG Stadium now.

Yup. It's real grass and it's a terrible field. Teams have complained for years.

Maybe they can change their name to the Houston Astros. Thus would emphasis their their are just losers no matter where they play.

The Texans are 34-64 on the road (.347) and 48-50 at home (.490). The turf stat would suggest that they've been 28-34 in grass road games (.452). So they really have been a terrible road turf team. Of course, playing at Indy every year couldn't have helped.

If the Stat is that bad I would assume the record is 6-30, wouldnt ALL their game on turf have to be away? Or am I reading this wrong?

I'm saying their record on non-turf should't include home games.. Since all their games on turf are away the record will naturally be better on non-turf since it includes home games. That way it'll be away games turf vs non-turf to remove the home advantage from non-turf.

When Indy was sucking for Luck, they won two games and one of them was against the Texans at home.

Oh ok, got ya.

Cowboys turf is more like a synthetic grass. It's 50/50 turf/grass.

Therefore, the Texans have a 50/50 chance of winning.

I amaze myself at times.
