I just saw that as of today, Tony Romo has the highest completion percentage in the league for this season at 69.5%. Jon Kitna is 6th at 65.9%

We definitely missed Tony last night!

In between Romo & Kitna are:

Brees - 69.0%
Brady - 66.8%
P. Manning - 66.4%
Rivers - 66.1%

So it's not like this is just some arbitrary stat, those are the best QBs in the league.

If our defense could stop someone once in a while, when it counts, we might be talking playoffs this season.

Someone cue Jim Mora.

I said that line last night. :laugh2:

Hey, we're only 25th on defense at 367.1 yards per game and next to last (Denver is worse) in points allowed.

I didn't realize it until just now that you posted the QB's completion percentages, but our pass defense allows a 67.4% completion percentage.

Last in the league.

most important stat after that which goes hand in hand with putting real meaning into the numbers you shown...YPC.....Kitna can complete 65% and as they said has a 5.5 Yards per completion.
brady is around 8.

quite a bit of difference. which only shows that brady and company are going deep, making completions down field and not just dinking and dunking.

Kitna has never been a guy to throw deep as his career 6.7 yard average shows. Romo, on the other hand, is 4th ALL-TIME (tied with Rivers, Roethlisberger, & Young) at 8.0 per attempt. The last guy ahead of him to play was in 1960. Romo's average went down this season (7.5), it was 8.1 after last season.

Tom Brady is not really a deep thrower, with a career average of 7.4 yards (tied with Danny White among others). He is at 8.0 this year but the only other season he has been over 7.8 was 2007 with 8.3 yards per attempt.

He throws a lot of dump off passes to his RBs with and occasional deep strikes downfield. The thing with him is that he is VERY accurate on his deep passes but it helps when you have all day to wait for your receivers to get open. :rolleyes:

wonder what kind of career kitna would have had if he had spent more years surrounded by a better roster?

even with the cowboys struggles this year, i think this is probably the most talented team he has ever played on

Kitna kinda fell down in the 4th quarter. There was a stretch there, just prior to the last TD drive that cost us. The last three drives before the final TD, he overthrew Miles badly on 3rd down, he threw well short of a 1st down on another third down and he threw a pick that allowed Philly to score the winning points.

I thought he played very well, up to that point. That was unfortunate because I believe that those consecutive three and outs probably gassed our defense. There was a stretch there in the late 3rd and early 4th quarter where we just kept going 3 and out. During that time, Philly gained 83 yards on us in the running game. We just looked like we didn't have anything left for them.

That's what comes from not having a consistent running game. Down the stretch they were able to run the ball and we couldn't.

Absolutely missed Tony. He would have tested those corner deep. Garrett would have called a different gameplan, IMO, with Romo in there against that secondary then he did with Kitna.

One of the downfalls last night was never backing those corners up by taking some deep shots. Way too many 5-8 yards passes last night.

Last in the league.

So the average QB that plays us has a higher completion percentage than Brady, Manning and Rivers. No wonder we can't win any games...we're playing a QB that's better than Brady, Manning and Rivers every week. :eek:

Math. You're doing it wrong.

Don't think so if the numbers reported in this thread are correct...

Avg Completion % against Cowboys = 67.4%
Brady = 66.8%
Manning = 66.4%
Rivers = 66.1%

Kitna did not have much choice, his accuracy was off most of the game, especially on the outs and long balls.

And I echo your derision for the D - could not stop jack most of the night, especially after the Cowboys would score. D lost the game, with help from Kitna.

Romo wouldn't matter last night.... The D still gave up 30 points and couldn't stop the run all night.....

Everybody talking how ROMO would be the difference maker? I just don't see it, Kitna have protect the ball, manage the game and stick with the run, as I believe ROMO is the main reason why we don't run the ball because he check out of it most of the time? WHO KNOW FOR SURE.....

Lets don't forget who the starting QB that went 1-7 start of the season
