If the Cowboys lose to the Eagles, but end up winning the East with a victory over Detroit coupled with an Eagles loss to Atlanta, they will become only the 3rd team since the merger in 1966 to win their division with a losing record in their own division (2-4). The other two teams were the `71 49ers (2-4) and the `82 Packers(1-2 in a strike shortened season).

Even if they do win on Christmas, the boys will be only the 10th team to win their division with a .500 record in the division(Seattle will most likely join them this year to become 11th...making the 3rd time they've done so since 1999).

This is out of 254 division champions dating back to 1966.

That is pretty interesting. Wish we would have done a better job of kicking the NFCE in the arse.

its not surprising seeing how tough this division plays each other...regardless of records

With the current alignment division games don't carry the weight they did when it was a 5 team division. It is now 6 out of 16 when it used to 8 out of 16

There were some unusual circumstances here as Bledsoe got us off to a 1-2 start before Romo came in.
