I decided to do some stats on Romo's throw attempts for the past two years. From my figurations, Romo is excellent when he throws the ball 30 times or less - Cowboys record: 8-1. With 35 attempts, Cowboys record: 9-3.

If the offensive line and running game improves as expected, the next couple of years came be fun.

People wonder where the running game is still important in the modern NFL. This is it. The running game is important insomuch as it helps a team increase its passing efficiency. Some quarterbacks, such as Peyton Manning, could pass every down and still have an efficient passing game. Romo is a great quarterback, but he needs a game plan that allows him to keep his attempts under 35, which is still fairly high number.

Over Romo's career, in games that are close through three quarters (7-point margin or less) the Cowboys are 20-11 (.645) when they score a rushing TD, and 14-18 (.438) when they don't.

In those same games, the Cowboys are 29-24 (.547) when they score a passing TD, and 5-5 (.500) when they don't.

In the last 100 such games league-wide, teams that score a rushing TD are 36-22 (.621) , and teams that don't are 15-27 (.357).

In those same games, teams that score a passing TD are 41-33 (.554), and teams that don't are 10-16 (.385).

True but then if Peyton was able to run a more balanced attack who is to say he would not have more rings on his fingers. The year he did get a ring both Rhodes and Joseph Addai combined for 190 rushing in the SB . I think any QB and or offense benifets when you can keep a defense off balance.
