For all those that think Antonio is a more mature and changed man since he got out from big ole' meanie Bill Parcell's doghouse ... nope. He's was the same old Antonio Bryant under Crennel that he was with Parcells. And Campo. And Walt Harris.

Not hard to read between the lines with Savage’s quotes today in the Cleveland Plains Dealer…
Also, although the Patriots still have until 3 PM today to do it, it seems unlikely to put the franchise tag on Vinatieri. They don’t want to pay him franchise money. The best they can hope for is to get him locked up to a long term deal before free agency opens at the end of next week, but that appears unlikely since they’ve been negotiating a long term deal for the past two years with no avail. Its unlikely they hammer one out in 7 days with no CBA in place.
The Providence Journal proceeds to connect the dots.

Savage also is wise enough not to be conned by Antonio Bryant's 69 catches. His 14 drops and games in which he seemed discouraged and disinterested are reason enough to point him to free agency and wish him luck elsewhere.

Bryant's agent, Lamont Smith, confirmed to The Plain Dealer two weeks ago the Browns have not tried to re-sign the 1,000-yard receiver.
Savage said the Browns want to replace Bryant with a veteran receiver in free agency. He declined to comment on pursuing Cleveland native Joe Jurevicius, whose contract is up in Seattle.
"That's something we're looking into, trying to bring more of a professional demeanor, a professional quality, to that [receivers'] room," Savage said.

He's played his entire career with the Patriots and is one of the team's best-liked players. If he hits the open market, Vinatieri is almost certain to be contacted by the Dallas Cowboys. Bill Parcells, the Cowboys head coach, initially signed Vinatieri back in 1995 when he was coaching the Patriots. Dallas has had kicking woes the last few seasons.
