Interior D-Line - NT DT

I've said it before and a I'll say it again. A run stopping 1T is not the problem. They need a stud 3T pass rusher. David Irving could be that guy except he's not reliable. Wish they would have drafted Maurice Hurst in the 4th round.

We use a 1-Tech instead of a nose and Woods is about average, sometimes flashes above average. We need somebody better or at least another above average player at that position...

I get that. My thinking was more that they have gone nontraditional with guys like Nick Hayden and tried moving Maliek Collins over there, wheres Woods is an actual 1Tech-type player.

Collins was moved because Stephen Paea retired and Brian Price was hurt. Generally, they seem to prefer having an actual 1-tech type. They just don't make it a priority to get a stud there who can do more than be an anchor in the run game.

They did pay Cedric Thornton a little to play it, so I don't think they are adverse to that, but generally they seem to look more for cheap 1-techs like Terrell McClain and now Woods.

Woods is doing a great job, but Irving's literally been a no show and Maliek Collins is starting to look like an injury bust (which sucks because he was my pet cat in 2016). Crawford's the same guy he's always been, a pretty good DL who gets more hate than he deserves, and he's a much better pass rusher from DT than he was at end.

So it's basically Woods, Crawford, and JAG City. We've got a lot of holes to plug next year and no first round pick to do it, but I wouldn't be upset at all if we looked at DTs in the second.
