Internet Mock Draft

First of all I don't think the Cowboys are going to a 4-3. They've invested a great deal of money and 3 or 4 full seasons in this transfer to a 3-4 so I can't see them flushing all that because of one disaster of a season.

So assuming they stick with a 3-4, I think their biggest problem defensively is that they're very weak up the middle. I'm not talking about the Nose position either. I think their linebackers and Safeties are average at best.

I would NOT waste a pick on the strongest part of their D. Imagine if we could have an instinctive playmaker and leader like Rolondo McClain backing up our line. Not to mention Eric Berry or Earl Thomas at Safety instead of Ball patrolling the defensive backfield.

We don't need to re-think the wheel. Just draft playmakers to shore up the weaknesses up the middle.

I'm probably alone in this, but I think we need a huge, immovable space eater at the NT position. All the successful 3-4 defenses do. I think Rat would be an even better 3-4 DE than he is a NT, but I also believe his best position would be three technique in a 4-3 scheme.

Rat would be best suited in the 4-3 or 3-4 end.

I know he's a unique and effective NT but he can wear down with all the double teams.
