Interview With Kyle Wilber

Kyle Wilber, Tyrone Crawford and Ben Bass all came into the NFL together in 2012. They hit it off immediately and quickly formed a strong friendship. Now the three players spend a lot of time together, often bowling or playing flog. While they are all extremely competitive on the football field, they are equally competitive with each other. Crawford told me that he is the best bowler of the three friends, but that Wilber is the better golfer. But what is Bass better at?

“I would say debating.” Kyle Wilber told me at the Strikes for Kids Draft Party. “Politics, football, whatever it is. Regardless of the topic, he’s gonna shut us up because he just knows more about it. Also, he’s better at Madden than Tyrone. I don’t play it but Tyrone made a WWE-style championship belt for Madden and last I saw, Bass had won it from him.”

I called out Crawford on Bass beating him in the video game. Tyrone hung his head while his fiancé jokingly told me that it’s a sensitive topic.

These are awesome, by the way. Love the details about the Crawford/Wilber/Bass friendship, too. I'd never have guessed those three were a group of their own. Wilber's another player with an opportunity to kick it up a notch this year. He's gone from what I thought was a sure bust to a role player with an arrow pointing up over the course of last season.
