Back in the day, when the NFC was shown on CBS, the intro to the games usually played a song and showed highlights (similar to MNF). Anyways, before the Cowboys-Giants game on Thanksgiving that year, they showed highlights of how the high and mighty Giants had fallen that year, and the Cowboys were beginning to rise to the top of the NFL. We would eventually go on to win the Superbowl that year.

The song that was played in the background was “November Rain” and the highlights included a narrative by Pat Summerall. It seemed to be the perfect intro to the game, season, and teams playing. Towards the end of the clip, Pat Summerall stated the following:

“To find inspiration that the rains will someday stop, all the Giants have to do is look at the Dallas Cowboys.”

This was an awesome inspiring clip, and if anyone can post it onto youtube.com, it would be much appreciated. I have it on VHS, but do not have software to transfer to a computer. I’m sure I won’t be the only one inspired by the clip.

I remember that clip as well. I may have to go pull it out of my closet and watch it again. I have all the wins on vcr tape from the early 90's.

I remember that too. I was in the 7th grade then.

That was possibly the best intro ever- I still think about it a lot- the intro to the Philly playoff game was great that year too- "I hate everything about you."

Houston, it actually is on You Tube, I caught it on there recently. You should find it through "dallas cowboys" or even "NFL on CBS" I believe.

Has anyone found this?
Most of the old NFL clips have been removed from YouTube. I don't know what that thing is good for if it is going to be too picked over to enjoy.

I don't recall the one in question. Frankly I don't remember the Boys playing the Giants on T'giving at all, much less in 92. But I have most of those glory seasons on tape so I'll go look.

What I do recall are the great intros CBS used to do. My favorites...

1992 season NFC Championship game. Oh my gosh it was great. SF Bay, Trolley cars, the Catch, Montana, Young, Rice, Jimmy & Jerry's arrival, the Herschel trade, the drafts etc. Awesome collage set to the music from Hook.

Mid-90's. Can't even recall which game it intro's or if we win or lose. But it starts in a graveyard, Dallas is dead, condolences are sent by various teams, and then Nate Newton appears out of the grave and announces "we're not dead yet". Classic. Don't recall the music.

CBS did a great job with those intros. And Summerall, will never be replaced.
