no. that would be chokes in a win or go home road game.

Are you seriously challenging ESPN to come up with something eve more moronic?

Wins-losses in road games in the playoffs when the weather is 42 degrees or cooler outside and the QB is wearing his hat backwards.... Watch. When that is created, I'm blaming you.

And if we did pull off that trade people would still call Jerry an idiot for letting Leary go.

And to think in 2005 the Packers wanted to draft Marcus Spears and ended up having to settle for Aaron Rodgers.

What's his 3rd down success rate?

How do you define that? It is the team's 3rd down conversion percentage while he is the QB? That would including running plays which bring in many factor outside of the QB skill set.

So he's going to throw 1 INT a game by the law of his averages. Im ok with that so long as he's throwing 2 or more tds a game

He doesn't throw tds at that rate, though. 96/70 career td/ints. 14/13 during his last real stop in Minnesota.

My reason for this thread was that some people (media) are speculating that Cassell is more prone to Ints than Weed but his career stats show him to be better in that area than Weed.

Int % (Ints per attempt):
Romo 2.6%

Rodgers 1.6%

Cassell 2.95%

Weed 3.25%

In term of completions (Ints per completion):
Romo 4%

Rodgers 2.4%

Cassell 5.0%

Weed 5.6%

Completion Percentage (Completions per Attempt):
Romo 65.3% (Average 8.2 yards/attempt)

Rodgers 65.9% (Average 7.9 yards/attempt)

Cassell 59% (Average 6.6 yards/attempt)

Weed 57.7% (Average 6.67 yards/attempt)

I hate these kind of stats.

How many interceptions were tipped? How many were heaves into the end zone on the final play? How many were the result of bad routes? How many did the receiver not compete for?

A lot goes into interceptions.

i was just trying to find something to put some relevance around the stat.

And to think in 2005 the Packers wanted to draft Marcus Spears and ended up having to settle for Aaron Rodgers.

Good for them.

They realized that they needed a QB to replace Favre someday even though Favre could still perform (and had a fantastic 2007 season) and never got injured. But, they still saw the forest for the trees and were smart enough to realize that having that first round QB sit out and learn and then take over was a better option than waiting for the day that Favre could no longer play and having to start a rookie QB right away.

Career Int/Completion rate.

Cassell completes 20 passes per Int.

Romo completes 25 passes per Int.

Weeden completes 17 passes per Int.

Weeden completed 17 passes?

NO WAY!

He's driving the bus either way so it's all relevant. And I'm not a stat hound so I wouldn't know either way.

I'm hoping Cassel will get good enough pass protection to allow him time to pass more accurately than he might have in the past. I feel reasonably confident that his intermediate and long range passing will be more accurate than Weeden's were. Anything past 10 yards appeared to give Weeden problems and oftentimes not even that far with a rush coming. Let's face it, his poise isn't exactly what one might call stoic -- lol.

This reminds me of the Beckham games with 90 yards stat thread... Irrelevant outside of a vacuum, which they don't play in.
