Yeah, bit the bullet.

I never run out and get tech when it first comes out but Apple ios9 updates are crippling some of their previous devices.

This thing is big and fast. Nice split screen but not split browser.

I've got an earlier iPad (though I have kept it at iOS 7 for audio purposes), and the music infrastructure is cool, but not really dependable. At the price Apple is asking for the iPad Pro, I'd go with a Surface, or some other touch screen adaptable. Like the iPad Pro's size, but Apple's upgrade decisions aren't cutting it with me.

Just an tip.

Stay at ios7 for older iPad.

Ios9 crippled a few iPads. Weird. They were all similar in spec just affected differently.

Ios7 is solid for older models.

My iPad Mini had an issue so for a stop-gap I just ordered the new Amazon Fire for $49 until I decide my next move...

I would like to get a new tablet. My samsung tab 2 is getting slower, battery does not hold a charge like it used to and the charging port is going bad which makes it fun trying to get the cable just right so it will charge at all.

Thought about getting one of the Lenova tablets just because it is cheap and one of the better bang for the buck tablets. Was thinking about amazon but don't want to lose my play store apps and books so that is a no go.

Go read about the Amazon Fire in relation to existing apps... it runs on Android and includes lots of previous purchases. There are a ton of questions answered and features and freebies described...

http://www.amazon.com/Fire-Display-...F8&qid=1447947573&sr=8-1&keywords=fire+tablet

Mine gets here today so I can give you firsthand experience shortly, although it gets great reviews... and only $49.

A fix for your iPad would getting it back to an earlier version. I know iOS 7 is good.

Unfortunately it's the ribbon cable that controls the touch screen. $120 for non-authorized non-Apple fix and Apple wants $200+ so seeing that it is two years old, I may not fix it...

Somebody at work had an amazon fire tablet and could not convert her number of books from google play over. I got a good number of books I would be losing out on.

I had looked at some programs to convert different types of formatted ebooks to other types but never could get one to convert a book I bought from google play to a different format.

Some say Google Play works in the Q&A... others say it doesn't...
