I just updated to the newest software (3.1).

I had been told that with this update, MMS capabilities were going to be included for AT&T users. As far as I can tell it hasn't.

Anybody know what happened this time, and if it will ever be available?

AT&T is about the only carrier in the world that has MMS disabled on the iPhone at this point. It's not a matter of the phone, the iPhone is capable and has been activated. It's a matter of AT&T feeling their infrastructure can't support it (and coming up with a good way to gouge customers with an added fee). I'd imagine it's hard to justify another fee to customers who already shell out 20 bucks a month for unlimited data.

So yes, the update did enable MMS support for the iPhone for any carrier, the problem here is AT&T.

3.1 also takes away options on the Passcode...

As an Exchange user I am getting my email on my iPhone. I have auto lock at 1 minute. There was an option to require the Passcode after one hour of no use...

Now 5 minutes is the maximum time. I wish I had never upgraded at this point...

Thats the thing I was told, and read, that AT&T was going to enable it with this update. Pretty frustrating.

"MMS will be enabled on Sept 25th on the iphone platform." - ATT

We appologize for this and wish to extend our thanks to Dallas of CowboysZone.com for aiding us in how to implement this very strange and totally new protocol on our phones.

Thank you Dallas.

This is all MOSTLY true btw.

You can now snap pics of yourself and mail them to all your BF's, BobSac. Well ummm on the 25th you can.

Cool -- anyone got a list of the new features/changes?

Didn't realize there was a new version out.

I haven't upgraded anything yet.

As a Jailbreaker I'm still ahead of the curve.

DevTeam and others are about finished with a JB 3.1 solution. I'm expecting a new JB out Sep 25th.
