None of my kids have a smart phone (technically), but I pay $20 per month for unlimited texting... PER PHONE...

I recently jailbroke/unlocked an iPhone 2G and put one of my son's SIM in it. He now has an iPhone with no data plan... pretty sweet...

Nice Apple iPhone Battery Bug

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Apple said Wednesday it had found a problem on certain iPhones that is causing some customers to experience less-than-expected battery life with iPhones running its latest.

"A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices," Apple said in a statement.
"We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks."

Apple declined to comment beyond the statement or offer any recommendations for what steps customers should take for now.

Some customers have found some success by limiting notifications and by turning off a feature that automatically adjusts to new time zones.

Did you get the 5.1 iOS beta released only to devs? They claim its fixed but testing hasn't verified it.

Also that fix isn't going to be available for another 3-4 weeks. ;) Testing - Testing - Testing

I haven't, but then again it hasn't been an issue with my phone as of yet...

:D Well I hope your battery lasts for the entire day before a need to charge it becomes an issue.

It probably has to do with a couple of new services on the new OS. I must not be running them, because my phone lasts 18 hours a day.

Mine lasts 3.
iPhone4 updated to iOS5. Although I do use it a bit excessively, 5gbs a month of data and 19k txts last month (sent/received).
