Report: iPhone 5 to have huge screen
By Rosa Golijan
We've heard reports that Apple is working on building a smaller, cheaper iPhone, but now we're hearing another rumor: The hardware maker is also working on a bigger iPhone.
DIGITIMES reports that component suppliers who work with Apple shared details which imply that the company is intending to build an iPhone with a 4-inch display:
The component suppliers noted that the production lines for Apple's next generation iPhone have begun testing, and Apple is interesting in expanding the screen size to 4-inches to support the tablet PC market as the vendor only has a 9.7-inch iPad in the market.
While this report certainly ins't a guarantee that the iPhone 5 will be a big-screened monster, it would be reasonable for Apple to consider giving the next generation iPhone a bigger display in order to compete with some of large Android devices on the market.

Highly unlikely. Don't you just love all the Apple rumors that come out that never come even CLOSE to being legit, but everyone talks about them like its going to happen?

One would think that sooner or later people would realize rumor and Apple just go hand and hand on the net. What is really hilarious, is all of the Apple fanboys foaming all over themsevles talking about them. :p:

I kid you not these people are comedy on a stick. You should see some of the posts in these tech threads I read.

Apple iphone gets 6 inch screen now called the

It was also reported last week that Verizon's iPhone lines weren't nearly as long as analyst initially projected.

Where is the fever? Where is the flash?

Oh that's right.... no flash. :D

If it gets too big it will be ugly. Thats what Stevie will say.

This seems incredibly unlikely for the iPhone 5. The retina display would no longer be retina display unless they increased the resolution and there is zero chance that happens.

Now for future versions? Who knows.

I'm sure they were crushed that a product that had been out for 8 months couldn't generate longer lines.

And yet Droid phones can't generate lines, even on initial launch.

First of all, get an editor.

Secondly I'm fine with the size as is. I can also all but promise you that Apple has zero interest in "supporting the tablet PC market".

And I can all but promise you and everyone else that the PC market isn't at all interested in Apple supporting it w/ its emulation products of any kind.

:laugh2:
