Oh, they put them in bad spots?? Yeah especially when they take the lead right?? lol give me a break at bad spots. teams are driving 80 yards on this defense easily... Commanders game up 7, lead goes bye bye.. Arizona game up 7.. lead goes bye bye. New England game up by a FG...Miami's offense had an answer every time the Cowboys offense scored.. It's not like this defense is protecting a game winning FG from the opponent, these teams are having to drive the length of the field to put it in the endzone and are doing it easily making a clinic out of the Cowboys d.. Do I still believe we can pull off a string of wins, of course but Rob has gotta find something that works, b/c this is UGLY!!!

Yes bad spots.. short fields at the end of games.

His blitzes and coverages were too obvious.

Eli knew he had favourable one on one matchups. It was easy to see who has manned up and he delivered the ball so his guys could make the plays and our guys couldn't defend it.

Did you notice how he totally avoided Jenkins. He went after Tnew over and over again whenever he had that matchup. Ryan should have never given it to him.

Which pretty much means he knew Dallas wasn't doubling every receiver.

I think any matchup 1-on-1 favors the offense agains this secondary.

This team does not have a DB I am confident about putting on any opposing WR. It's that bad.

Jenkins is the best of the bunch right now but how much of that is earned on his part and how much of that is simply "by default" because the others are so terrible.

This has to be Newman's last year. There is no way Dallas can risk him playing any worse. He's so inconsistent it's unbearable.

Alan Ball is a wreck as well. He makes just enough plays to give the team hope he'll one day stop getting abused but gets abused enough to let everyone know that's not going to happen.

God forbid Jenkins miss any more time.

He didn't hit full sprint until he actually saw the ball. He didn't see it until late.

I'll have to watch it again, but i certainly didn't think he was half arsing it when i saw the play. It was just overthrown with not enough touch on it.

I think we all know what the word "dive" means without an illustration. lol

Nah, that type of effort requires balls and Austin showed tonight he has none.

Arizona drove 80 yards to tie the game in the 4th ..... New England had to drive 80 yards...Commanders drove 94 yards to tie the game ...While down 12 ,the Giants drove 80 yards in 2:27 seconds!!! Next possession they drove 53 yards POOR DEFENSE, their job is to not let the other team in the endzone and they failed!!! QUIT trying to make excuses, besides the punt at the end tonight, this short field talk is absurd

I don't think he was half-assing it, but like has been said by a few people now, he lost the ball in the lights and it looked like he lost it. Once he sees it, it's too late to adjust.

Its not just the short field tonight, its the fact that our offense has put our D in bad spots late in games more than a couple times over the course of the year. Our D gets a stop late against the Pats, held them to 13 points, our O runs 3 straight runs, and gives it back to Brady with plenty of time left. At Detroit, we had our D on the field for 90 percent of the second half with all the turnovers. Tonight we give them the ball at the 40 with plenty of time left at the end. It has happened.

BTW.. this is not an excuse at all. I stated already how our D collapses at the worst times so before you respond with all this whining next time, maybe read the entire post to get a sense of what the full perspective of the argument is about.

Dude, this was our season tonight and I am sorry if I expect to see some effort with the season on the line. Walking off the field smiling showed me all I needed to see out of Mr. Austin.

Besides, what the hell was so funny about our season going down the tubes?

That could very well be, and if true, certainly doesn't indicate that he was giving less than full effort like some have whined about.

Well, we did still have the lead right there.

We also got the ball back with enough time to at least tie it and both Austin and Romo came up big on that drive.

But, as usual, something always gives with us and it was special teams on both the bad punt and the blocked FG.

This wasn't our season, as we can still make the playoffs. Im sure he is worried deeply about losing your approval though.

..and i'd like to see you walk up to Mr. Austin and say what you said on here about him having no balls. That would be fun to watch for sure.

Consistently inconsistent.

Yeah. I don't think it was an effort thing at all. If he sees that ball cleanly, that's a catch and we aren't having this conversation.

Romo & Miles didn't connect. SO WHAT?? The team should just quit playing after that?? I hate this crap when people try to define the reasons why teams won or lost, just like last week after the timeout blunder, in OT the defense still had a shot to go out there and make a stop to get the ball back & got gashed in seconds.. If the fans were smart, everyone would be going at Rob Ryan's head & the defensive players who give up lead after lead after lead after lead

If fans were smart, indeed.. sigh.

I watch the media sessions with Rob Ryan week after week talking his defense up & they fail week after week in pressure situations, while Romo has been clutch week after week, after having a tough few weeks in the 1st part of the season
