Romo needed to see Miles and Roy perform against solid man coverage. He needed to know, outside of practice, who could get open and who he could trust on those crucial 3rd downs.
Oakland provided the best test of that since Miles was inserted in the lineup. Ever since, Witten has not necessarily been the 1st read on 3rd down or when there is pressure and that has made the offense even better.
Witten has gotten a ton more looks.
Miles is making big time catches.
This offense is almost impossible to get off the field now because the defense can't key on anyone.
Romo is accurate enough to fit the ball into coverage so who do you double?
If you bracket Witten, Miles has single coverage and Crayton is open on the other side.
If you double Miles, Witten is open underneath.
Roy would be a big part of the equation if he didn't screw it up in New Orleans and Washington.
If we can continue to score on the 1st possession (or just before the other team does) and limit the drive killing penalties, we can beat anyone. Handily.
I'm looking forward to the playoffs and we couldn't have a better 1st opponent. Philly can't beat us this year because they can't cover underneath.

Unlike most big receivers he gets into his routes fast and I don't think I've seen anyone have much success trying to be physical with him. He can catch smokes, screens, slants and then RAC. He can go across the middle, catch the ball cleanly, take a shot and not drop the ball. He comes back to ball beautifully on curls. He has deep speed and can adjust to poorly thrown balls. So how is the league going to adjust to him except to provide more and more help but that will only open it up for others so there is a limit to the amount of hellp anyone can get.
About the only thing that I can't recall him doing is one of those toe drags to get his feet down in-bounds on an out.
The only weakness I've seen from him so far is he has dropped the odd easy one.
The one great strength he has had so far that some of the greats didn't is he doesn't seem to get frustrated if the ball isn't coming his way. That humility he has from his upbringing is key here. He wasn't spoiled by special treatment starting as an early teen because he was a good football player like so many other prima donna types that occupy the league.
