Michael just said he would give up his three Super Bowl rings, the HOF bust, & his yellow jacket to go undefeated. They were talking about whether or not Jim Caldwell should rest his players and Michael went off on a tangent. Everyone else on the set thought Mike was trippin and I agree with them. I understand the exclusivity of going undefeated (including the Super Bowl) and the fact that no team has ever done it in this format but... I'm not giving up as much as Michael has accomplished just to have that. Sorry. Screw that.

Wouldn't he have had to win one Superbowl ring if he went undefeated ?

It's called hyperbole and Michael uses it all the time,,, I don't think he really means half the things he says.

Yea I don't think its outlandish as you guys think. You go undefeated that means you're the greatest team of all time. To be a part of that is special. Now while the Cowboys are considered ONE of the best teams ever ensembled if they had went undefeated? There would be no question. I wouldn't trade all of that but its not as outlandish as you guys make it.

Yep, I remember him saying this when the Patriots were undefeated in the regular season.

It has always been odd.

Yeah really. I'm sure the Pats would rather have one more ring than an undefeated REGULAR season.

I think the question should have been if Mike would give up two of his three championships to go undefeated.

That would be a more intriguing question IMO. Yeah we have 3 but so do the Pats. I could see a debate on the subject if you look at it like that.

1 Championship in the 90's with perfect season

or

3 Championships in one decade.

Worthy of debate.

I'm sure that was the purpose. What he reportedly said (I didn't get a chance to catch it today) is ludicrous.

Yes, that's the only explanation. Mike has much more sense than that position he took.

Other QB's, other teams, have won 3 in a decade.

Nobody has ever been so absolutely dominant to win every single game in a season in the 16 game era. And you'd be remembered for a very, very long time.

Though you could argue that winning 3 in 10 years shows the equivalent amount of dominance as you did it for a longer period of time.

He was. That's what baffled me. There was zero hyperbole in his stance.

Yeah Mike is out there sometimes, definitely smoked / snorted one too many imo. But he went against the Cowboys today, and that angers me. As ESPN would say, c'mon man.

I'd like to know the thoughts of other Cowboy fans about these comments from the Playmaker:
"I would turn in all three Super Bowl rings and my Hall of Fame bust for one undefeated season," Irvin said. Speaking to Barry Horn of Dallas Morning News fame, Irvin expanded, "I'd give them all back for perfection. Being the best for a season (Super Bowl champ) is great but being one of the greatest of all-time is something else."
