Before we even get to the playoffs. He said the kind of intensity that teams are playing us with is usually reserved for the superbowl champs, but because of the media hype and expectations teams are bringing their A game to the stadium every week.

Keith Davis hit on it.....It's want to and desire and intensity. Everyone has to bring it every game, and on every play.

Irvin is also explaining how talent doesn't overcome intensity and desire and that's what the giants fell victim to last night.

Well, it's kinda hard to play the Super Bowl every week. Dallas has to do this every season along with whoever happens to be the defending champs.

.

Not exactly earth shattering news from Michael. Whenever the Cowboys are good, that game is more than likely the biggest game on the opponents schedule. Everyone involved, from coaches down to the players, had to know this going into the season.

It's hard on players though that haven't been there, really. And honestly most of the Dallas roster now has only seen Dallas be really good for a little over a year now so this is something new to them in terms of how people are coming in to hit them in the mouth. They're going to have to adjust to that and quickly and start playing like their very careers, lives, etc. depend on it if they're going to start doing what they're supposed to do.

It doesn't help that every game we play is also on Primetime.

If there is one thing that is missing in the locker room, it is a Micheal Irvin type leader.

Somebody in that locker room has to pick up that mantle. Leading by example is good, but it's not everything. Somebody has to be the voice that prpels this team to play their best ball all of the time. That's the only way they will win.

Who is that modern day Micheal Irvin? That person must speak up now. Keith Davis? He may be part of the answer, but he is a backup safety and special teams players. We need some of the stars - the core players - to pick up this teams by the shoulders and carry it through these tough times. Where is he?

Owens is, to some degree, but if he were to speak up like Irvin did then he'd be tagged by the media as a disruption and then the media would do everything they could to be disruptive by constantly attacking him and asking all his teammates about the stuff he says and does. Pretty much like they do now only they'd turn it up even more.

I think the answer to that question is obvious, but the media will gang up on him when he opens his mouth.

I say screw it. It's time 81 made his voice heard.

BLAME JERRY JONES. A team that has not won a playoff game since 1996. A team with this many mental midgets. Jerry did them no favors when out of his mouth during Hard Knocks he said "pressure and expectations are good". That might be true...but NOT for this group. Not for THIS head coach. The majority of this team HAS NEVER WON ANYTHING. So why add the extra pressure!!!!!????????

BS ALERT!!!

I'm so sick of hearing that. Even if it were true, that doesn't explain why Dallas can't get up to play other teams.

Well 81 can always speak up in the locker room and shut up in front of the media. His problem is that whenever there is a microphone or a tape recorder put in front of his mouth he can't help himself. He may get criticized for clamming up, but who cares? He will get heat no matter what he does.

TO should shut up to the media, take the heat and lead in the locker room. If that's what it takes, then do it for the betterment (if there is such a word) of the team.

At this point, it almost sounds like an excuse. As if people should feel sorry for Dallas, because it's just not fair that other teams want to beat the Cowboys. How dare those mean old teams try to beat Dallas. *sniffle* *tear*

I've always believed this was one of the key ingredients to the Cowboys looong term success.

They can't afford to wallow away mired in the muck of mediocrity.

When they are average to bad they still get a good effort from the opponent most weeks. Teams are motivated to "stick it" to America's team and kick us when we are down. This often leads to a final record perhaps a few games weaker than it should've been giving us a higher draft pick the following year.

When they are good to great, we get the opponents best effort even more often forcing us to thrive or die. These teams are often tested tough and are more ready for the rigors of post-season.

Understand this "theory" doesn't prove out each year and it certainly doesn't hold water based on our recent history.
