where do we put him? Normally he lined up inside or at LDE I though. Now Lawrence lines up and is playing great at the LDE spot. Do we move Irving to RDE?

He’ll play some at rde and tackle on passing downs.

I don't, and never did see Irving as a true difference maker. He shows flashes but nothing consistent.

This isn't like having Ware or Haley coming off suspension.

Thank the Football God's... can we please go ahead and deactivate the second biggest liability on the defense (Charlton)?

He was a difference maker against Green Bay and Tampa Bay last season, he was a one man wrecking crew. Only 3 NFC defensive players of the week on the current Cowboys: Sean Lee, DeMarcus Lawrence AND David Irving

Comparing Irving to Haley or Ware is asinine at this stage of their careers. No one is saying Irving is a HOFer ... yet. But that is true of 99% of the entire NFL. But not many players have had Irving's defensive impact, complete domination of a game. And that is especially true for the Cowboys. Limited flashes or not.

Fun fact: Irving has only started 2 games

agree,he is inconsistent. He makes some Wow plays but dissapears a lot.maybe limiting his snaps the first game will help to get him all out.

Bet they deactivate Moore over Taco. They already benched a better player (Tapper) to save him, bet they do it again. Deactivating a 1st rd pick would be embarrassing.

Cut the bum I say!

Losing would be more embarrassing.

Andy Reid is such a good coach.
Yeah he's such a good coach he's managed to completely mismanage some of the biggest games of his career with terrible clock management. He's an ok coach to get you to the playoffs but that's it.

Can't stand the guy either but he's at least got his teams TO the big games. Can Garrett say that?

I don't know about cut the bum ;-) but I wish he could be a difference maker and be more consistent.

People are thinking he is going to be a difference maker coming back and I just don't see it. I hope I am wrong

I see him as a role player guy who is not likely to ever play full time, but can help. Sadly, he is better than Taco right now.

I can't disagree with why some will think this. But he needs more reps on a regular basis. But with Marinelli's scheme not many players will get those reps. Really not liking this scheme. he is supposed to be a genius DC, but hasn't produced yet.

I know the Collins fans will hate this, but I think Lawrence, Collins, Crawford and Irving (not necessarily in that order) are our four-best linemen, so I'd like to see us get them all out there together, which would mean Collins playing some 1-tech.

I'd probably go with Irving at RDE, Crawford at 3-tech, Collins at 1-tech and Lawrence at LDE. (Normally, I'd move Lawrence to RDE, but he's not moving the way he's playing now.) Collins may be the better 3-tech at this time, although I'm not sure about that, but Crawford/Collins is a better pairing inside than Collins/Paea and I don't believe Crawford (or Irving) can play the 1.

One of the things I'd also like to see is Dallas not go with those full-scale substitutions on the line. There was at least one series where we had Charlton, Price, (not sure who was the 3-tech) and Moore out there as our DL. It was like we decided it was time for the second team to play. We need to mix and match those players with the starters only putting in one at a time on any given series.

What exactly has Moore done since he returned to not warrant being benched? I'm not saying Taco has done anything, but neither has Moore.
