Some NBA players have missed entire seasons with a "High" ankle sprain.

"High" in this context basically translates to partially torn ligaments. No Randy Gregory jokes needed...

I think they like their current DL lineup as long as Maliek Collins healthy enough to play significant snaps. If Collins can't play or if Crawford was back at DE it would be different.

Crawford, Collins and Irving are all 3-techs. Marinelli super-loves Crawford who is back at DT after playing mostly DE last year. With Randy Gregory playing well and Collins being gimpy early in the season, they moved Crawford back to DT.

They only have 4 DTs active on game day. They put a significant extra focus on strong run defense this season including playing more "base" with 3 LBs than they have in several years. Having three 3-tech type DTs active would not be ideal for run defense.

Fair enough. If it's that bad, why not put him on IR, and get someone into a position of need?

It is a weird situation. Forget about Irving as a player. The fact that Dallas has not put him on IR and yet there are no updates and he doesn't practice, not even limited practices. They list him on the injury report which would be a problem for the league if he is not injured. But if he is injured then why not place him on IR? Do they believe he may make a miraculous recovery at some point and then make a huge difference in a game? I don't see how. So what is the real story with this guy?

The kid has issues and is still struggling to get through them and the Cowboys simply don't have faith in him and can't trust him at this point. That's the reality. He's going to have to earn that trust and faith back somehow in this offseason if he wants to play for the Cowboys again.

A few of those guys will be gone by late 2nd round. I'd throw Jerry Tillery in there as well from ND. Likely a 3T in the NFL.

I'd also love a hulking stud 1T but I've given up hope this franchise would invest in that position.

Injury doesn't prevent him from attending meetings and games, but none of the people trying to make excuses for him have anything to say about those facts, because there is no excuse for it.

They said, was in good spirits in player locker room, last week. But no mention of being on the field or wants to be.

I would move the guy to IR, open another slot for player.

You mean people are still asking? To me the only question I have,is why he wasn’t moved to IR awhile ago? He’s not playing,but he’s taking up a much needed roster spot. We need all available help at TE,O-line,and WR this week,and his name keeps getting in my active roster way.
