Well, the consensus seems to be that with a more dynamic scheme, with a pass rush coming from various places, the ability of the dbs to nail their man will be even more critical than in a less aggressive scheme.
And AH looks like the weak link to a lot of folks.
But I prefer to look back on how he played in 05 in those games before he suffered the groin pull, and remember what his strengths are, and why he was brought in. AH has never been a "shut down cover corner". What he is a physical db who can match up against a bigger receiver and relish contact. He is also an asset blitzing, and covering the run along the periphery.
If HEALTHY, which he hasn't been for awhile, I don't think he is any liability.
I also think the coaches are considering the secondary as a whole, and how perhaps this year the safeties will actually be in a position and/or have the ability to help out the corners. Duh, instead of vice versa. Increased smarts and perhaps speed of the fs, and Roy played in a way that more successfully enhances his skills...instead of picking out one guy who is going to sink the ship, I kinda like thinking about how the boat can stay afloat because ALL hands are on deck.
If AH was so clear a weak link in the new system, something would have been done about it, I suspect.
