Wrong they've had a shot at least 3 out of the last 5 teams. The players just don't play up when they need to
What shot did we have? You mean beat the 49ers, Philly, then KC? Quick, overnight me that crap you're smoking.

Is a Texas Granny’s Curse Behind the Cowboys’ Super Bowl Drought?

An Arlington native says the Dallas Cowboys won’t win another championship until the team restores her grandmother’s bluebonnet patch.

Jerry Dumbo GM Jones is the reason.

We already had a long drought going before the blue bonnet massacre.

We eked out a win at home against their backup QB. But you're right. I'm not a believer in miracle runs. If they happen, great. I just don't count on it.

Personally, I think Jerry was so obsessed with winning a SB without Jimmy around that he sold his soul to the devil for the 95 SB and the fine print said that the Boys would not win another SB as long as he was alive.

When you think about those picks in the SB that won it for us.....
If he wins one now, it'll be "what took you so long, jackass?".
But Jerry will still say, I told you I can win without Jimmy "Jump Up".

The tax money that helped finance the stadium was a hotel room tax.
http://football.ballparks.com/NFL/DallasCowboys/newindex.htm#:~:text=City sales tax increased by,with an additional $150 million.

“City sales tax increased by one-half of a percent, the hotel occupancy tax by 2 percent, and car rental tax by 5 percent. The City of Arlington provided $325 million in funding, and Jerry Jones covered any cost overruns. Also, the NFL provided the Cowboys with an additional $150 million.”

Do you live there and were kept in the dark about how it was financed? No doubt she paid some sales tax. She could’ve stayed in a hotel when she was kicked out of her home.

*They love societal contributions that help them. It’s a win win!! Now can we all agree they need another round of tax breaks to make things fair?

No. It's a great story. But the Cowboys haven't won a championship because they haven't had any teams good enough to do so. The only legit chances we had since 1995 was 2007 and 2014. They've sucked building a team. Although they have done much better recently.
Your way off our only chance since 95 was in 06 when we had a real coach.

BP was burned out; the death of his brother really rocked him and that is why he retired. Added to Jerry getting fractious about how much control BP had and it was all over. The 2006 team had serious defensive holes that would have doomed them even if they had gotten past Seattle. The 2007 team was our best shot; so many of the players on that team had career years. But in the end we did not have the coach to get us over the hump. A better coach would have had the team really ready for the Giants; it was so close as it was just a little more would have gotten us past them.

Now as regards the Pats that year, they were wearing down as the season ended; the pressure of being undefeated had them mentally tired and that showed in the SB. We played them pretty well earlier in the season so I think we would have had a shot.

Everything BP did finally came together in 2007. It was a shame that Wade was there instead.

Yep. Wade was just not a good enough HC. Great DC but that was all. I really was sad about that as Wade is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

I guess Leo Durocher was right; nice guys finish last.

But the way we lost sure did look like curse. Tony romo botched hold and run just short of endzone and then dez catch challenge reverse.

Maybe more if a jimmy johnson curse though but i would bring some bluebonnet seeds for old granny.
