Doe Bill have a wall of mediocrity in his office? Is he happy with 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th place in the grander scheme of things? Anything less than a NFC Championship win should spell the end of the Parcells era in Big D. I believe that jettisoning Zimmer only would be yet another band aid on top of the ones from 05, 04, and 03.

So for the sake of his job Bill better have these guys ready to go on Saturday night! :starspin

Bill said today that the decision to stay or go depends on how he feels when the season ends. And then gave JJ the courtesy to agree, which JJ did.

Jerry Jones said the decision to return is in Bill's hands alone.

Bill also said that the events of this week, or the past month are not what will figure in his decision to return or not, but whether he feels he has the energy for another full year of the pressure and rigorous routine.

Tho fans and mediots claim the result of particular game(s) could end Bill's tenure, that is not the case.

Only his sense of whether or not he can make it thru the season one more time with sufficient strength of mind and body will figure in his decision.

So ready as some will be to crucify him Saturday night or the next week, or the next, they may still find themselves stuck with Bill.

He alone will decide his fate.

LTN I agree for one reason and for one reason only. I really & truly do not believe that Jerry has the intestinal fortitude or the resolve to with stand the publicity that he will have to bare as being the owner that fired two HOF Coaches.

:D I've never seen it before and when the wall of mediocrity was displayed so proudly I couldn't help but think of old Bill. I need a lock on my computer that disallows me to access this site after having had any drinks. ;)

Well, my hope is Bill fulfills his contract next season and the team is much more competitive than it was this year..because we can't expect the low number of injuries or the general malaise that allowed a team to get into the playoffs at 8-8 to repeat itself in 07.

Hopefully, go deep or all the way next season, and when Bill steps down next Jan/Feb, Jeff Fisher's contract is coincidentally up.

I also don't feel that JJ wants to fire Bill. He may be as disillusioned as Tuna at this point, but these two are in it together...there really is a mutual respect and support between them. He will 'give' Bill that final year of his contract not out of fear of what the public will say if he canned 'Bill Parcells' (JJ could weather that storm just fine), but because, as both have said numerous times, 'we've been very careful with this relationship", and consequently, it has flourished.

Imo, there is no available coach JJ wants so much that he would break that relationship.

I still feel we are not that far away from having a very good football team.

With the lack of quality coaches that are available Bill fullfilling his contract would probably be in the best interest of the team.

I feel Replacing the DC would go along way toward appeasing alot of the fans wrath..

As much as I hate to admit it, I think you're spot on. Perhaps Bill has one last hoorah left in him.

Well, we know Bill couldn't care less about fan wrath or appeasing it.

Or Dale Hansen/Randy Galloway wrath.

The kind of wrath 'that comes with the territory', as Bill describes head coaching realities.

If Zim goes, it won't be to appease any of us, but because someone's been found Bill and Jerry think can do a better job.

But can they really think that person is Todd Bowles (as rumoured?)

I have no idea......but at the moment I feel almost anyone would be better than Zimmer.
