Is he holding back something for the playoffs?
Maybe he thought his team was good and talented enough to get by the rest of the year playing "generic" football. They were not good enough last week or against the Saints.

Have you noticed the lack of something in the play calling. Of course you have. It has been very vanilla. No gimmick or trick plays, flea-flickers, RB or WR option to pass, end around, reverses. Where have the y been?

Where was that little fake play where everyone was going right, then romo does a little roll left and hits a wide open TO. Was that the 1st game against the Giants when he did that?

Maybe he is keeping something for the playoffs.

As for defense, They need help no matter what. I am hoping they have some well disguised blitzes they haven't used, some line stunts also. I hope so anyway. Maybe it is just me being optimistic. Because he seemed fairly upbeat in his PC yesterday about the playoffs.

Yeah, Ok, we will suddenly turn into a great Blitzing Defense and Trick play offense once Playoffs come around. Talk about never dying optimism, no offense, but thats just silly. But I am sure there some who might be thinking like you, heck I used to initially or at least first 2 years of BP, but now, its what you see is what you get.

There is no turning it on etc.

Yeah, let's blow a chance at a #2 seed and a bye and then the division so we can surprise some teams as a road wildcard team.

Yeah...that's the plan. :lmao2:

Its not some big act.

We were fighting for 2nd seed which is a bye and a home game.

You think BP wanted to sacrifice all that?

A few people now have mentioned this and you are all in denial.

All of that would be great but players especially on defense need to stop busting their assignments. A lot of blame is being thrown at the coaches but as I have said before they are not putting together game plans that call for WR or TE/FB to get scott free. I think for trick plays to work you must be able to execute the basics something we have not been doing as of late.

That's not what I meant by it. But glad you got a good laugh. :D
I do not mean they blew their chances to wait for the playoffs. Just that the coaching staff were in a little bit of cruise control but did not realize it. Thinking they are playing good, let's keep some stuff in the bag. Just throwing it out there for discussion.

I think we're only showing 2% of the playbook, so we can surprise some teams next year.

If that happened, which I doubt, then the staff definitely needs to go if they are that stupid.

If he is he should be fired immediately that would be the dumbest plan ever executed in the history of the NFL.

I can just see his strategy card now.

1. Throw division title -- check
2. Embarress the franchise on national tv -- check
3. Lose the division -- check
4. Give up easy TDs -- check
5. Throw away a round one bye -- check
6. Lose home field for first playoff game -- check

Bill doesn't tend to use trick plays when he has good teams. I guess he has a high estimation of this team, despite their poor play.

I do think that he is holding some surprises back for the playoffs. However, I also believe he did everything he could to win the past three weeks, and the team is 1-2.

The problems for this team are not on offense. It's not Romo. It's not T.O. It's not even the poor offensive line play or the running backs. It is the lack of pass rush and time of possession. I suspect Bill will change things up on defense significantly (not next week, but in the playoffs).

Well, I prefer that if they were in cruise control, they'd know it.

But sure, something's in that bag, all right.

It just better be big enough to masquerade as a pass rush.

I think our devious strategy goes even farther than saving the playbook for the playoffs.

I think we purposely lost to the Eagles so we could go on the road in the playoffs where we play better.

Yeah, that's the ticket.....

:laugh2: I read some of these posts and think of the skins fans as well.

It is all some elaborate plan, we lose now so we win later.

I hope bill did not lose the little orphan secret decoder ring when we need the real game plan to kick in.

I hope we don't show up to the playoffs with the message...drink more ovaltine.

I don't think he has been holding anything back but I do think they have been playing conservatively on defense and will go back to the type of defense they played against the Colts. You just can't continue to leave your defense on the field that long rushing 4 and hoping at some point we are going to stop them.

I know we have blitzed some, but we seem to send the whole house when we blitz rather than 1 from different spots.

It has not been working obviously so that is why he mentioned they are going to try and do a few different things.

This is ridiculous! Do you really think he would throw away games?!?!?!?! Come on man...be optimistic but this is just ignoring reality.
