Is Cooper better than Dez?

Wouldn't bet on that at all. Please keep in mind ALL wideout numbers have been down since Dak has been the guy.

True but do you think that might have something to do with our receivers being so blah? I'd say it'll get better, even if it's not quite enough.

I'm surely not contending that Dak is the answer to our plight. Basically, I'd just say that we've got more problems than China has rice!

Yeah, now I’m doing my research (highlights too) this guy scares the crap out of me. His heart and head aren’t in the game. I don’t know what the HELL those idiots on the Break Show today we’re watching? But Cooper is in no way worth a 1st round pick.

Chrispierce your analysis is crushing it!

Since he's been in the league Amari ranks 210th in % of targets caught. Dak and Cooper are going to make a great duo! :(

Lool Not really...I’m just trying to trying to find out what’s going on. He was injured all 2017 and didn’t say anything,so it’s not as bad with his comittment to football as I thought at first. But he is a project at WR. He goes amazing play, then “What the heck?” play.

It makes no sense other than this is a typical Jerry Jones move!! Treat someone elses garbage like royalty!

Is this the one time he made a difficult catch?
Nope. There are others. I'm highlighting the rout he ran (Dez could never) to get open vs a quality secondary. Then he high pointed the ball - just like 2014 Dez. Oh, and he used his 4.4 speed (something Dez never had) coupled with his precise route running to create separation (something else Dez doesn't do well without being physical).

Drops are an issue (with Dez too btw), but I'll take a flyer on a 24 year old stud vs a soon to be 30 year old player who still can't run the full rout tree.

And there are no WR1s in next year's draft that are better than Amari. Dallas won this trade by grabbing a guy that will take Landon Collins and other safeties out of the box. This will open things up for Beasley, Gallup, and more importantly, Zeke.

I might be in the minority, but I love this trade.

It’s a SOS risky move...and he is talented, and will make some big plays, but not worth a first. Needs to be consistent and he hasn’t shown that. Especially in this offense where one mistake kills their drives. That’s what I hate about our offense, any bad plays have such a magnified effect on things. Cooper is a project. That’s what I see now.

From my point of view, Cooper seems to be average at best. But, I have no idea how teams cover him as I don’t watch the Raiders and I don’t see who would....

Do teams consistently double him? Because based off of his production I don’t see why teams would...

With his production I have to think they are triple covering him every play.

If they don't double him then there is no point and teams will still stack the box to stop Zeke. I'm more worried about the OL which has turned mediocre. If Zeke can't run we're going to continue to struggle.

Who we could have signed for free?
How do you figure free?

There is a monetary cost to sign him.

An internal problem to bring him back with negative comments to Garrett and Lee and others.

An external problem with the perception that we should not have gotten rid of him when all we were doing is what the Raiders are doing now..

getting rid of cap space.

Ain't no big thing.

Our next #1 is not going to save this team.

People need to wait and see.

Dez for free is better than Cooper for a #1.

Even 2017 stats back that up.

Cooper 680yds 7tds
Dez 838yds 6tds

Cooper's numbers will only get worse with our atrocious QB.

Well, considering he only played 4 games with Dez in 2015 and then had his career end before getting to play with him again it doesn't really make a lot of sense.

It wasn't 4 games, it was less than 3 games. Dez was injured against NYG and didn't play week 2. Romo came back for the Dolphins game and Romo didn't finish the Carolina game. Total is one full game and two partial games. Plus, wasn't Dez dehydrated or something during the NYG game before coming in to injure his foot? So even less time.

They are pretty close. Cooper is faster but he gets dominated by press coverage. Dez at 30 plus a 1st round pick is better than what Cooper will give us.
We got Cooper, now go out and get Dez back. Release William and go from having no number 1 receivers to having 2. Dez, Cooper and Beasley. Then we know if Dak has it or not.

Who we could have signed for free?
I looked at Rush in the preseason for this very thing and I didn't see anything he was doing that looked better than Dak, despite all of Dak's deficiencies. I'd look to White to surpass Dak with more than Rush since White at least has arm talent.

If the reports are true, saying Cooper doesn't love football, then I say no. We all know Dez absolutely loves football. Give me the player with heart. That's just me though.
