Is D-Law better than D-Ware?

I was one of the blasphemous D Ware detractors.
I never said he wasn’t good.....I just said he wasn’t HOF. Why?

I saw him make more than his share of pro bowl LTs look bad.....what I don’t recall seeing is him put a stop to a comeback and take over a game when it mattered.

How many game trashing INTs did Tony throw when we thought he’d already come from behind to get the win only to have to get back on the field and win it again? There’s a relationship there. Not all on D Ware, but there is a connection.

All that said- D Law needs to put several more seasons together to step to D Ware. I’m critical of how D Ware responded when he was game planned against- but when he was 1v1.....yea- he made the OTs look like they were standing in mud.

My vote: not yet.

No. This type of stuff is offensive to a first Ballot HoFer.

Even Sturm capable of being a prisoner of the moment.

No it’s not.

It’s comparing peak years

Is it offensive to Dan Marino to say Mahomes is playing better than peak Marino?

No..it would be offensive if you say Lawrence had a better career than Ware though.

In 2008, Ware had 20 sacks (led the NFL), 30 QB hits, 27 tackles for loss (led the NFL) and 6 forced fumbles. That was peak Ware.
This year, Lawrence is on pace for 12 sacks, 25 QB hits and 19 TFL. He has 1 forced fumble and 1 interception.
It ain't close.

For some reason, there's a cottage industry among Cowboys fans of diminishing Ware as a player. The guy was amazing.

I think Tank is a more complete player, but Ware had a bigger impact on a game. Not to say Tank won't raise the bar from here.
D-Ware had the stats but he would come up small in games where he was expected to dominate. How many 2nd and third string LT did he make look all pro. The last big play I remember him making is that int against the giants on their opening drive.

...DLaw is more athletic then Dware. He's agile ability helps him get in the backfield and make plays.

Just my opinion but Ware was the better player
Then again he is still one of my all time favorite Cowboys

Is D-Law playing better than D-Ware at his peak? To me it feels like D-Law makes more impact plays than D-Ware ever did.

D Ware could drop back and cover TE's. Not saying D-Law cant, just doesnt need to, but D Ware did
