Or is Wade assembling a new staff?

Remmebr when Parcells said that he didn't really change anything his first year, because he wanted to see what he was working with? I guess that wade isn't affored that oppurtunity by some...

Parcells taking over Miami couldn't come at a better time IMO....

that's just it - the people we're losing parcells did bring in. wade was given a HC position and a lot of coaches. we were busy giving all the credit to parcells as we went on that 13-3 run and when we lost the playoff game, suddenly it was all wade.

lots of parcells guys on the staff with minds already in florida. possible? we'll see. but this was a 3 year project people are killing in a year. makes me wonder if these people would buy a new car simply because their car was out of gas and too difficult to figure out what was wrong.

I don't think it's that huge of a deal. I'm more concerned with the players being raided as if you really research the past, teams who go from being very good to poor usually is due to players being raided or getting injured and not finding suitable replacements. The worry is hypocritical since Dallas lost a lot more coaches last year and wound up with a better record despite so much turnovers of the coaching staff.

I thought Bowles was a pretty decent coach and the same with Sparano. Pasqualoni never impressed me. Other than that, the turnover is pretty normal for the league.

Actually by the time Jerry hired Wade there weren't a lot of position coaches available so Wade kept Parcells' guys. The Cowboys along with the Falcons and Ravens have the chance to move early after those coaches who they want. Like I've already said, I wouldn't be surprised if Wade opts for former KC OL coach Solari who just fired as KC OC cause he would have been familiar with Solari's work since Chargers/KC in same division. I'm sure there other defensive coaches who Wade also knows who can coach the 34 we now play in Dallas.

Wade's staff plans
Wade Phillips said he was working with Jerry Jones on contingency plans for staff replacements before the season was over. Better get that candidates list out -- for possibly seven open jobs.

Here's the breakdown of the potential staff overhaul of who might be leaving: Offensive coodinator Jason Garrett, offensive line coach Tony Sparano, secondary coach Todd Bowles, linebackers coach Paul Pasqualoni, defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers, tight end coach John Garrett and special teams coach Bruce Read.

Garrett may be set to become the new Baltimore head coach and if so, his brother John would likely follow. Sparano is the expected to be the new Miami Dolphins head coach and Bowles might be his new defensive coordinator and Pasqualoni could also follow. Rodgers is not under contract and could leave and Read's special teams coverage units were dismal and may force Phillips to make a move.

Replacements? Offensive coordinator candidates could include quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson or receivers coach Ray Sherman. Sherman was the OC with the Jets, Vikings and Steelers. Norm Chow is also available after getting fired in Tennessee.

Offensive line coach? How about Hudson Houck, now unemployed after last coaching in Miami.

Surely we wouldn't do that...:

(And yes, I did call you Shirley.)

I don't know all that much about Chow and how the locals feel he did in Tennessee, but I'd love to get him and continue our success. He seems like an easy guy to root for, and is a bright guy by all accounts. Of course, there are several other guys who would do well, too.

I look at Wade the same way I looked at Romo last season. Tony showed a lot of promise, but I wanted to see what he could do being the starter the whole season (from trainning camp to playoffs). I don't know about some Zoners, but as far as I am concerned, Tony proved himself.
I will extend Wade the same courtesy. He will now have the chance to shape the coaching staff and he will be able to over-see free agent signings. Not to mention a second draft. To me, the 2008 season will determine what kind of coach Wade really is. The expectations for this next season will be extremely high. Wonder if Wade can rise to the challenge:starspin
