Is Dallas Tough, Smart and Talented?

After 7 weeks games this season, I ask the following....

Are we a tough team??? No one really knows this answer but I have to say as compared to other teams, I don't think so...Does our Defense have that "I am gonna knock your teeth in" approach...maybe Hardy does, but I don't see it as opposed to the Seahawks, Bengals, Panthers, heck even the Eagles show it at least...I am not saying its all about results, yards against and pts given up...its swagger, hards hits, being emotional etc...a belief!!! On Offense at times we may be, our ground game like yesterday and last year..I know we miss Tony and Dez, but at least I see some fight at times...Dez is that leader though on Offense, sorely missed...do our WR's fight to get where they need to be, uhhh no....its little stuff but shows if you have it or not.

Are we a smart team??? Again I say no.....stupid penalties, confusion at times in assignments, poor route running, knowing the situation and bad coaching ....

Are we a talented team??? As a fan I believe so when healthy, BUT its giving a lot of slack to players who are not performing as expected....Again, Tony and Dez are missing, but TWill, Beez, Street and Escobar come up empty...I mean look around and you see guys like Ginn and Philly Brown last night agsint the Eagles make plays...some guy on Minny named Diggs, Crowder on the Skins making plays...so I ask are we any talented or overrated to a degree... On Defense, Tyrone please come forward, Demarcus can I have a sack please....at least we all know Hayden blows....as does our safeties.... depth obviously is what we thought, as evidenced by our ST play...

When healthy...

This team is talented enough because the top guys are hall-of-fame good. I still think the roster is very top heavy though and needs considerably more depth. I know we've gone away from bringing in aging vets, but this team would be worlds better right now with someone like Andre Johnson's influence on the offense.

As far as being tough and smart, I don't think there is any way to make an educated or worthwhile argument this team is either of those. Dallas generally gets pushed around by teams that play the bully role. I won't go so far as to call this team soft, but I certainly wouldn't apply the term tough. This is team is absent minded and ignorant of situational football. They make the worst mistakes at the worst times. Generally you'd call that coaching, but that is a whole other argument-no they're not smart.

This team has definitely lost some of its physicality from last year.

The tackling has fallen off a cliff. Remember last year when everyone was praising Marinelli's D for swarming to the ball. Do you see that this year? It's weird, I'm even seeing sure tacklers like Church and Lee miss tackles. I don't get what's wrong with this defense.

Judging off of this week, we were pretty physical, on both sides of the ball. I think the OL has gotten better as it's gotten healthier to the point where the last two games they've been playing at the level I expected all along. The DL has been good, now that it's at full strength.

The problem can almost entirely be put on the turnovers and the big plays we've given up, and on the inability to take the ball away defensively. That's a simple enough explanation, really.

Last year the Cowboys were more ground and pound. I wouldn't have called that team a bully though.

That hands to the face penalty of RoMac was inexcusable and resulted in points on a drive that we would've been off the field. Mo has had two of those the last couple of weeks.

That penalty tells me everything I need to know about if a team is smart or not.

I think the answer to all three is no. we are not tough. tough teams find ways to win. they don't make mental mistakes and they take advantage of their minimum opportunities.

we are not smart, as we contineously make mistakes at the wrong time, with dumb preventable penalties and taking the wrong angle, bad tckling, poor technique this late in the season.

we are not talented. we as fans tend to over rate our talent, but this time we really have. there is pockets of talent. but our WR group sucks. half these guys belong on PS. williams in his 3rd year makes rookie mistakes.... beasley has disappeared and there doesn't seem to be any plays for him any more. escobar sucks. hanna is limited. witten is getting old (yet he out performs them all)

If they keep playing like this, it doesnt matter if Romo comes back or not..... Were going to lose more then we win.

Were real close to where players start making business decisions. And they give up on the season and/or coach.
Coaches start lookigjn at other jobs......

No one likes being around all this losing...... its bad for business and mental health.

Critical mistake there. Could have made it to the half with a 6 point lead and getting the ball. I'm not even sure what he was trying to do there.
