The Cowboys are apparently high on Martinez, and Pauline thinks they could target him on day 2. Do you see Damien Martinez as a day 2 caliber back?

I like Martinez a decent amount. 4th round would be better value, but not having a 4th could force a tough decision in the 3rd if they pass on RB in rounds 1 and 2.

I would rank Martinez somewhere in the 8-12 range in terms of RB’s in this class. Just a matter of how many go between 1-75

Most underrated running back in the draft and probably the best pure runner this year, would love him as an every down back. Draft a speedster in the 5th/6th to spell him.

Would take Martinez in the third all day long

The Mingo trade keeps getting dumber and dumber by the day smh.

Absolutely!!!
This is about matching a runner with your scheme, and I think Martinez runs a lil bit like James Connor. Even without the comp, DM is just good, tough runner with good feet and violence at the finish. There are too many good RBs to say someone like Martinez isn't a 3rd round worthy RB.

Said no team ever.

If the Cowboys wanted a 4th that badly they could get one.
You say that now, but wait till day 3 starts and there are lots of players with starting potential sitting there. Meanwhile we've ignored one or two needs on day 1 and 2 because that's what the team does.

We're also different than other teams, in that this team doesn't fill holes in free agency and relies solely on the draft. We need every pick.

This screams trading back in rd 1 to add more picks

Most everything has him rated a mid to late 3rd. Might have been one that had him rated early 4th!
As someone else pointed out he’s fairly comparable to James Connor!
They could target a bunch of backs on day 2 so Pauline isn’t exactly posting some epiphany!
