A lot of posters were declaring Hitchens a bust when he was drafted, so by Cowboyzone standards no it isn't too early. But by any rationale, objective standard it is way too early to call him a bust.

He will never be what people here want, he isn't a true edge rusher, doesn't have the get off or natural speed.
What he will do is win with hands, technique and combination of moves.
I still look for a TRUE edge rusher in the next draft, you cannot have too many.

I would settle for tony Tolbert type then.

Funny how the draft works. The Texans and their fans are asking the same question of the top pick in the draft with Clowney. Is Clowney a bust? Could be. So far, looks to be a bust. And we just might get more out of Lawrence than the Texans got out of Clowney this year after all is said and done. Oh, and last year's #1 OT Fisher seems like a bust also. Cardinals OL Jonathan Cooper can't even sniff playing time in his second year and is pulling splinters out of his butt watching an undrafted FA in his spot.

Too early, yes, but I can't think of many good players we've had who didn't at least flash some of that potential very early. Lawrence has shown nothing so far.
