Is Devin Smith in over his head?

Anyone watching him? Dak apparently has no confidence and interest in looking his way. Is Smith simply getting locked up on the outside?

It's a tough one. Hard to judge him on last night alone because we didn't play well as an offense but it may be that he is a lifetime number 3/4 we that benefits from the opposition letting him run freezes they concentrate on others

He is probably out of his depth right now. I think when Gallup comes back and he goes back to be more of a sub package player, he may be more effective

When he is wide open Dak throws him the ball, re: Washington. Nobody was getting much separation last night, Dak keyed in on Cooper and you saw the results. Should have exploited the deep middle with Jarwin more, but really only went his way once, that could have softened up the underneath for YAC.

What I love about Dak is that he doesn't really lock into favorites and spreads the ball around nicely. I have to believe the chemistry isn't where I hoped at this point.

Could it be the saints DL is better than people thought? Possibly Dak felt like he needed to get rid of the ball fast? it didn't feel like we ran alot of those crossing routes like in the 1st 3 games that were helping guys get open.

Dak was not given much time to survey the field. Fist read or checkdown seemed to be the case most of last night.

If Smith wasn't the hot read, Dak had no time to get him the ball.

They were on top of our receivers all night.
Dak has improved, but I still think he doesn't want to make mistakes so if he's not confident in a particular receiver, he's not going there.
He's comfortable with Witten and Cooper. He may not be as confident in Smith.
Then again, I haven't looked at the all-22.

Cedrick Wilson would have better served playing against the Saints last night. Devin Smith is a deep threat, which means the Oline would need to give Dak time to throw deep. The Saints were constantly bringing the heat last night. Cedrick Wilson's ability to run crisp short-to-intermediate routes would have better served Dak and the Offense last night.

Who planned the Offense's counter-strategy against the Saints' constant blitz last night???
