Is Fergi this year's Flo?

Last year, one injury (Flo) crippled our entire offense cause we did not have an adequate backup. This could easily be the case this year with Fergi. NT is possibly the most important position in the 3-4 (much like a LT to an offense). If Fergi were to go down, we would be screwed. We have ZERO depth at NT... Thomas Johnson?? an undrafted FA and thats all. If we don't improve this position through FA or high picks we all better hold our breath that Fergi stays healthy.

I was worried about this last year.

I really think BP thinks he has something in Johnson.

One of the blog sites(Vela's maybe?) mentioned that Dallas was really interested in DTs at the combine/Senior bowl and talked alot to the Michigan DT. Forget the name right now but the evaluation I read onhim had him as a boom or bust type who needs "motivation" to play hard all the time. Not my ideal choice for a first rounder but maybe in the 2nd. I think he had a good senior bowl to boost his stock.

Gabe Watson. You can bet Parcells got the scoop from his good buddy, Lloyd Carr, up there in Michigan

Pepper Johnson - believe he ended up on IR most of last year. I hope he's not counting on him as the answer.

FA - Makeo Kemateau 3-4 340 NT

Draft

Ngata
Watson

Its a real concern of mine - you need DT rotation in the NFL - Forget injury. Need 7-8 guys to rotate in there.

Its not just best 22 that win - best 53 win games.....

My guess right now is that they take a nose guard in round 3. If they sign Lavar, they'll probably look at one in round 1 or round 2. If they sign McGinest, they'll probably stick to drafting one in round 3.

It's sad to say, but really next year's Flozell may just wind up being Flozell again.

It would be wise for Dallas to sure up the OT position and not count on Flozell being healthy again.

No, he worked his way into the rotation at the end of the year.

I like Kemo, but someone is going to pay him starters money. I doubt Dallas would after splurging on Ferguson last year.

I'd consider a NT in 2 or later. I wouldn't be surprised to see another later round guy like Tommy Jackson or Kwakou Robinson. Maybe a vet add for depth as well.

I just can't see adding a first round pick to be a rotational guy with so many other glaring holes that need to be addressed.

I'm not saying it isn't a position of need....just that I think there are greater positions of need.

Merriman is better than LaVarr and we wanted nothing to do with him because of the Postons.

Now we will go get Lavarr?

Dude, free agency has not even started yet. Then there is thing call the draft. There are options available to us.

I doubt it...the difference is Adams was a pro bowl LT and was replaced by garbage...Ferguson was painfully average at best last yr...losing him wouldnt have near the negative impact

that said, I think we'll sign a free agent or draft someone to back up Ferguson
