Just look at the recent deals the Cowboys got done early (for them) and how they've turned out:

-Jake Ferguson: Just read this thread
-Terence Steele: Has regressed horribly and was probably never worth what he got
-Trevon Diggs: off the team
-Osa Odighizuwa: traded to SF
-Daron Bland: Never the same since 2023 due to foot issues
-Brandon Aubrey: finally looks human

This is what everyone wants. Pay guys early. And if we did pay Micah early….based on what we’ve seen he would’ve missed games two season in a row because of the acl injury.

The good thing though is they can get from under Ferg and Bland soon. I can see the writing on the wall for Bland even if he gets better but I think they like what Ferg does.

I have always said , he needs to stay on his feet and fight for more yardage instead of taking a dive at first contact which is getting really old . Don't the coaches tell him that ?

Schultz was a terrible blocker too.

But he made plays as a receiver. For whatever reason it's been two-plus years since Ferguson has been a consistent downfield threat. If he's nothing more than a token blocker that catches five to eight yard passes, he might as well be a backup. Get Spann-Ford in there, someone that can move people in the running game and catch the ball just as well as Ferg.
