Is Front Office Complacent?

We know dallas is a minimum 6 years away from winning anything.
I don't understand this type of thinking. Unless you believe we will never contend with Jerry then I won't argue against it. Fair. But if you think there's a "process" or a time frame to do it? Just not how the NFL works.

For 52 spots on the roster it won't take that long.

They need a franchise QB who can win a super bowl. Impossible to tell how long that will take.
The Boys are stuck with Dak at least through the 2026 season and even in 2027, if they were to let him go then, he would account for almost 56 Million in dead CAP money so not likely! In 2028, it gets better as the number would be $32 million of dead CAP $ which by then would be a bit easier to swallow and he will finally be a UFA in 2029! Dak just happened to have his best season statistically in 2023, right before signing his new contract when he was 2nd in the MVP voting. Did he deserve being the top paid QB, NO, but timing is everything! He probably should have been paid somewhere in the 50 million per season range vs. the 60 million per he received! Maybe he will do a John Elway, surprise us all and get us a Super Bowl in his last years!:laugh::laugh:

Basically, it won't happen until we understand the value of the DT position. Took Jerry like 20 years to understand the value of the OL, might have a bit of a wait ahead of us.

OK, we signed Pickens. I like it.

We had what looks like a good draft. I like that too

We still have needs at LB, S, CB, DT and maybe RB.

Do the Cowboys think signing Pickens was enough? Jerry was talking about a couple substantial trades.

We only made one. The roster looks better but it isn't complete.

Will they make any more key moves or did signing Pickens make them overly confident and complacent about signing or trading for other key upgrades?
You know how I feel about Jerry and Sons, but to be fair, we signed 3 LBs.

I think Jerry is at the point that he knows he has failed and he knows a Super Bowl is not going to happen.
So he brags about his business accomplishments and sells hype.
But I think he knows he has been found out by the fans, and that he is not the genius behind the '92 Cowboys.

We can't say he doesn't value the position this year giving Osa 20 million and signing Solomon Thomas. I agree in years past but this year they've done some things.

Yep, Lewis was a tough loss but they couldn’t pay him that kind of money.

Is that why Bland is working inside on nickel? I follow what goes on but not all that closely. I can’t really figure on which corner can play inside and who cannot, but I think there’s some talent in the room there.
They've moved a lot of people around in OTAs at that spot. Not a whole we can really take from it other than they are just trying to different guys there.

Bland makes the most sense, but leaves outside weaker. Carson needs to step up.

It's no secret I really want Junyeh to have a fair share to earn that spot, think he's perfect for it. Talented young player who needs more time on the field in my opinion.

But I do think Dallas wants Bland in slot another outside corner to step up or a vet like Gilmore Maya be brought in later in camp.

Jerry had to sign someone that would bring hope to this coming season. Normally it wouldn't happen but people are leaving the fan base and have lost hope.

Fair and true, I think people thought mean 1T specifically when talking about DL.

It's an area of concern but not as big as Corner in my opinion.
I get it. Personally I don’t know their stance but I’m seeing what Mazi does. If we get through the preseason and training camp and see he’s not it I’m shopping for one….

But let me say this….I agree 1 T is important….but this fanbase needs to be honest. Our woes aren’t all on one guy. We keep selling we just need a 1T….im victim of it too. But Mazi wasn’t the sole reason for our lack of stopping the run. Nobody likes to tackle and some of our best players are putrid against the run.

Nobody is leaving this fanbase and they are making more money then they ever have and have more prime time games then anyone. This is just factually incorrect. Fans leaving CZ or saying they are isn’t a real reflection.

$40M tops. He got overpaid for many years and considering how much money he makes off the field Jerry should have offered less.

At some point an owner needs to step up and make a stand. This was the perfect opportunity as Dak hasn't proven he is worth anything close to what he is getting paid. Send a message to the player he has to take a lower offer or sit out. Win in January and we will redo your deal.

Def agree. We've bolstered the DE position
Turner is stronger against run, Kneeland even Dono EZ. Fowler played better against run last year.

Though we don't have that bonafide stud everyone wants other than Overshown at LB I feel better about LBs this year as a while, and could see a vet brought if they think it's needed.

Even at CB Revel is an an aggressive willing tackler in run support, Elam graded out well last year in this area.

And Mazi played better 2nd half of last year. I think he builds on that this season
