Is Garrett safe the entire year?

The only reason I'm asking is because I don't think we win very many games this season. Will Jerry make excuses and give Garrett another year? Could Linehan take the fall? If we go on a losing streak will Jerry pull the trigger midseason? Will 8-8 get Garrett fired? I'm just curious what everyone thinks it will take for Jerry to make a switch. This is not a bash Garrett thread but I think most will agree a New coach is on the horizon. Thoughts?

My prediction since April has been 6-10 and Garrett is fired at the end of the year. Don't see that changing

Sounds about right. He won't be fired midseason.

I think if the team goes 0-7, or 1-6 or similar, Jerry could potentially pull the trigger before the end of the year. I never, ever thought Jerry would fire Wade, but he did to bring in his Golden Boy Jason Garrett. For those of you that remember, the Saints were making a play for Garrett before they hired Sean Payton and we gave Garrett a fancy title and a pay raise to stay in Dallas. I am not sure the next Golden Boy is here, so who knows. Jerry lives in Jerry's world.

Not this year it won’t. As I said during the summer, Garrett is very quietly on the hot seat this year.

Jones came out and said he would never fire a coach mid-season on live TV back in 2010, we got slaughtered by Jags and Packers and we sent Phillips packing.

If we get to that point, Garrett is gone.

If Clapper isn't the best version of himself this season, and our 'Boys don't return to the playoffs, Jerry knows he must make a change immediately. Jerry genuinely likes and respects Jason. But he's no more loyal to Jason than he was to Romo, Ware, Bryant or Bailey.

Jerry's ultimate loyalty is to the organization. That's his identity. That's how his legacy will be judged. Period!

my best guess would be if it stays bad, heads may roll but it won't be his
the thing that makes me wonder is he endorsed Cooper as the backup to Dak and recently supported Linehan
you would think if he were concerned for his job, Linehan would be the guy to take the fall. can't really blame Marinelli, it seems Kris is already making the defensive calls so he's likely heir to DC
I think Linehan is the guy that will get canned unless Jerry's plan B is to promote Linehan

The one thing Garret is supremely gifted at is being chummy with the Jones family. They aren't canning him mid season.

The only way Garrett gets fired before the end of the season is if the Cowboys start 1-6 or 1-7, and then get embarrassed on national tv. That's what happened to Wade, but I'm not sure even that would be enough for Jerry to give him the boot. If I had to put money on it, Garrett makes it through the season.
