Is Green Bay Over-rated?

In my humble opinion, Green Bay is an over-rated team. Sure they're 6-1 but it's the way they're winning that shows their true colors.

First, they lost to a bad Chicago team at HOME!

Second, they are barely beating mediocre teams like the Broncos, Eagles, and Vikings.

Third, they have no running game except for the win against the Broncos and their porous run defense. One of the Monday Night Football announcers stated that if it wasn't for Jason Elam the Broncos would be 0-6! And they took the Pack to overtime.

Steve Young and Emmitt Smith are picking them to reach the NFC Championship game but I don't see them making it. I think the Giants and even the Lions (with a healthy Kevin Jones) have a better shot at making it than the Pack.

You are crazy packs will only go as far as brets old *** arm will take them and that aint much further. Eagles will be finished after this sunday and skins have no shot at all. They can't beat half *** teams so there is no way they will win either game against us or the Giants this year. Skins Eagles will be good their about equal. The giants will self destruct next week.

It's hard to tell right now.

Green Bay simply has the chips falling their way. I think they are more lucky than good. But you can say the same for the Cowboys.

As D Town says....the Packers go as Brett goes, it has been that way the last 12 years. If Brett has a bad game, GB loses. But it's hard to pressure Favre with that solid pass blocking their line does.

Who has anyone beaten? Who have we beaten? There are only like 4 or 5 good teams in the NFL.

Pretty much sums it up.

Most of the good teams in the NFL are in the AFC.

It must be noted that the Broncos played w/o their best Wr, Javon Walker and their best RB, Travis Henry.

I don't think they are over rated they are 6-1 and like many teams have certain areas of weakness but hitting the big plays is not one of them and add to that a pretty solid defense

amen to that.

Like Steve Young, all this talk is white noise. there are two teams, indy and the pats. Then there is the nfc which is wide open.

I see the packers as a very good team. I am not sure who other people are watching but there defense is terrific.

Anyone want to see our secondary play favre right now? I am terrified of that.

I see Dallas and Green Bay as equals. thank god we dont go there in november.

their defense is better and our running game is better. That leads me to believe that right now, they could score alot on us and we would have a hard time matching that.

Green Bay is not overrated. They are the same as us and have played a couple better teams.

Green bay is 3-0 in the nfc east right now.

I think GB is slightly overrated, yes.

That offense is essentially exactly the same as the one they had last year. And last year it was less than anemic...

There is just an aura there I guess, a drive to succeed, a push they didn't have last year that they have now. But its not the kind of driving success and true talent that makes you a shoe-in for the NFC Championship.

I see a few teams in the NFC that, if they played GB again today, could give them a real pain...The Giants are very resurgent and may beat them if given another chance. The Commanders just barely lost to them and then got utterly manhandled by the Pats...

Exactly.

Their defense is Top 5 caliber, and they are one of the few teams out there with an above average QB that has a solid group of WR's (Jennings/Jones/Driver) who can spread us out and pick on our secondary. We've faced two other teams like that so far this season, and they scored 35 and 48 on us respectively. I think it would be a pretty even matchup if we met in the playoffs. We'll get a chance to see how we match up, because as you said they're 3-0 against our next three opponents before we meet them in the regular season.
