It'll take more than three games to tell. He's faced some good interior competition, but still, it's just three games. The way he's played, though, certainly seems promising.

I agree. Definitely need to let this one play out. No need to extend him during the season as he may be the "get paid and get fat and happy types". Funny he's having his best year, NOW. Then again, there's a lot to be said about young boys coming into the league maturing into men.

Do you think we've finally found Stepnoski's replacement?

Gurode is an animal. A lot of people (including myself) thought Al Johnson was going to be the guy this year, but give Andre credit for developing into a rock solid center.

Most likely he won't it, most likely the blurry vision is from the swelling around the eye butting some strain on the muscles

We don't know that though. He got cleated. He very easily could have a scratched eye.

I think he'll be fine, but until we get some reports, we don't know.

I haven't been a fan of his -- but today I saw him -- as Al Johnson put it - kick Haynesworth's *** all game. Haynesworth is very good. This is promising.

He likely would have had an eye patch if there was damage to the eye - all I saw was a huge bandage. Doubt the trainers would miss something like that.

You mean like a ruptured spleen?

They're human, they miss stuff.

CowboysZone LOYAL Fan
I also tend to think that the incident with Haynesworth is going to help Gurodes popularity with us Cowboys fans.

It's weird way for it to happen, but it's already starting.

If Gurode continues to play the way he has been playing recently, he might very well be the guy....

Still need to see more.

The offensive line play today was really good.
We were running it down thier throats starting in the second half.
And that was when Gurode and Haynesworth were still in there.
Gurode has improved.
Let's see if he can keep it up.

I think he's legit.

Coming out of college, I thought he'd be "the guy" for someone almost right out of the gate. I'm not why it's taken so long for him to develop, but I think he's finally realizing his potential and he'll be at least a B+ calibre player for a long time.

I saw on one running play, he pushed a tackle 6 yards back, OMG..

I've paid close attention to this guy, and if you go play by play, you will never see his guy near Bledsoe - And on running plays, he's starting to remind me of a young LA.

I completely agree with Erik H, if the game was played in Dallas next week I'd be willing to bet he'd be getting the most cheers {playing or not}. If he goes out and continues to have a really good year this year then I'm sure most Cowboy fans will be wanting him back.

Someone mentioned above that it was funny he having his best year now. I'm assuming he referring to fact Gurode will be a FA after season ends. Well remember that Gurode actually became a FA after 05 season but Cowboys signed him in offseason to 1 year extension for over $1M. Gurode's agent (or maybe Gurode) were surprised Cowboys wanted him back considering Johnson kept winning starting center job. Cowboys/Parcell wanted Gurode back (not because he a good backup OG) but because he had all the ability but lacked mental understanding of how to play center position and Parcells didn't want give up on him. Gurode started playing better at center back in TC (then Johnson) and Parcells cited his increased maturity this year but also mentioned that Gurode's buddy (Torrin Tucker) was essentially no longer here to distract Gurode. I think we will wait til at least midway in the season before beginning negotiations with Gurode's agent to resign him to starting C job. Now that he appears to be on his way to playing like Cowboys always wanted we won't take the chance of having to groom another center to take his place. Frankly if anyone had told me that FINALLY we'd have a center (Gurode vs Johnson) who really played well I wouldn't have believed it. These 2 seemingly have been competing for center job forever. Count me before TC began as one of those who believed we needed sign a FA center, but I appear (and I admit to being happy about that) to have been wrong. Cheers to Gurode and hope his face only sore and no eye problem results from Haynesworth actions. Haynesworth better be fined and get several game suspension. His actions were despicable and NFL needs make sure this case is not repeated.
