From what I read on him he's not that big, Blocks well and has great hands.I think he's going to be used as a H-back, like Cooley on the Skins. Could this be the end of fullbacks in Dallas?

certainly possible.

i'd think bill wanted to actually free witten up from backfield blocking and he wanted a guy at fb who was a real receiving threat instead of polite who is a try hard blocker but cant catch or run.

Don't mention that to Hos :D

It could be if we sign Mike Vanderjagt and we need a 2nd kicker to kick off.

I doubt we'd ever sign a kickoff guy. Parcells wouldn't waste a roster spot like that. McBriar or Vandy, if signed, will have to learn how to kickoff.

Depends what you think a waste is. If you have a guy kicking it consistently in the end zone it's not a waste. The kid from OSU Josh Huston had 70% of his KO's as TB's last year. it's 5 yards further in the pro's but field position is worth something.

If we did go with a KO guy I'd want it to be a rookie we can develop. Vandy is probably 2-3 years from going to the idiot kicker retirement home.

I'm biased but Gostkowski from Memphis would be a good one also.

Parcells was having problems with activating enough Olinemen last year no way he adds a kickoff guy to the mix.

It's driving me nuts people thinking if we bring in Vanderjagt we'll have to bring in a "KO specialist."

Vanderjagt will handle the kickoff duties. Vanderjagt last handled the kickoff duties full time in 2003. I think it was in 04 that he hurt himself while kicking off and since then they've been using a kickoff specialist.

He had 99 kickoffs, averaged 60.2 yds a kick, had 4 TB's, and averaged 21.5 yd return average against.

Vanderjagt can kick off, just not necessarily what he does best. He has the best active FG percentage ever. He is a great option at kicker.

If we were to sign him, he would be just as much of an upgrade as Vinatieri, and he doesn't seem as if he is wants to be the highest paid kicker ever, which is what Vinatieri wants.

Last year was last year. IF we've signed Fabini he will be the starter at RT and the backup at LT. If LA is cut, Kozier would be the LG. Gurode could be the backup at center and RG. And it's possible the right draft pick could be the backup at LG and RT (Charles Spencer or Ryan O'Callaghan). That gives you a much more flexible lineup than we had last year and opens up a roster spot.

Nice post.

Chris Cooley is a Skins, nobody here cares about Skin players.

Jay Novacek is a more likely comparison.

If Hannam plays as good as Cooley, I'd be very happy.

Cooley was clutch for Washington last season. He made alot of great plays.

If you think Hannam is going to come in here and catch 70+ passes like Cooley did last year, you'd be mistaken. That's not why we brought him in here.
